How many service do we need to complete, I have already done all the original silver train, and I am now with the red train that has 2 different locomotive at each end, in the original set
I need a real answer, to know if I am wasting my time that it will never be completed, as the there is some other list of service
Just make sure you do them all. You've installed the DB BR 182 so the services counter will be increased in the route menu. You can complete services fully or by taking control near the end. I don't know if you have to do both timetables. I think it has to be the original one.
My apologies, I didn't catch on that this is a question about an achievement. You need to do all of the services from the original timetable to earn it; don't worry about the new one. Cheers
Thank you Callum for the answer. Doing service is the worse part of this game PS to DTG-NASTER, please in the future, only have the timetable for the computer controlled runs, and replace all the timetable for user with Journey and Scenarios, so we can at least enjoy to play
I think Timetables are good feature, they give you plenty to do. Journey mode is mostly made of timetable services anyway, and scenarios are intented to be special scenarios - something different, or a different weather scenario, etc.
timetable is worse part of the game, the most un-imaginative way to play, and then once a run is done, to be able to get to another one, you have to reset the whole game all over again and so on, and each reset take at least 15 minutes before you get to the next run. I understand it is needed for the computer controlled run, but for the user/player controled one, please the Journey is millions of time better than the timetable, as there is variaty
Journey mode is just timetable services with set conditions, and, unlike timetable mode, you can't continue on the next service (without a loading screen). Take Cathcart Circle, in Timetable mode you can do multiple services in one go, just press "continue in free roam" and wait a bit for your service to start up again. Plus, they are very, very unlikely to remove timetable mode, firstly because it's a key feature of TSW, and secondly because most people would rather it stays.
I also love the 24H timetable feature. I don't like journey mode because I like to chose the service time and weather usually to match the real ones. For me this is the best thing, you have tons of services with different times and signal aspects. The only thing I would want is for DTG to introduce random weather and events and we are golden.
your last sentence is what would make timetable barable, otherwise there is no joy, it is always the same, the game seem to forget where you the last time you played a trainset once the Journey is over.
For some, it's an advantage that a particular service is the same. Hence the Awesome Tsw2 Service Mode Runs thread.
The timetable mode is the core part of the game. It offers a lot of stuff. You can finish a service, jump down the train and then get onto another train as a driver or passenger without having to quit the session. Of course you have to wait and know the timetable for when the next train is to depart from where you are. You can find an overview about all the timetable services here: https://smtimetables.herokuapp.com Also: The game gives you enough opportunities to get variety in timetable mode, e.g. setting the weather not to clear but to Blizzard etc. Or to say it in short: The game cant do the creativity for you. You need to put it in.
i prefer the freedom of timetable mode i like to do a service complete jump on another if i have to wait a bit i just make a cuppa and waist some time till i'm in service to me that's fun and more realistic rather than journey mode where you complete it and then go into a load in screen in completely different conditions you were in before
There is no freedom in timetable, or anywhere in the game with the exception of the EXPLORE ON FOOT It is completely impossible to end a any Scenario or timetable and go elsewhere, you are automatically cick out back to the menus, and the only option is either EXPLORE ON FOOT, or to reset the game and start a new timetable or Scenario
Let me introduce you to "continue in free roam" the option at the end of timetable services that allows you to just change ends and have an extended drive (if the train's going into a portal you have to get off but still)
The option is there, but does nothing, except to place you in a never ending nightmare, and the only way to quit it, is by using the task manager of Windows to crash the game, and the the free can never be ended and you are stuck, and can not do anything bu just watch other trains go by, if you are lucky
Or you can do what sensible people do and pause the game, and leave to the menus. How easy does that sound? I'll give you another tip whilst I'm here: if your going to make an arguement to prove a point, at least make a good one
so what your saying is my many hours of going back and forth on gwe on 166 and 43s clicking continue free roam and if there isn't any trains rather do what you say which if I was honest so baffling which is to go on task manager to crash the game like where did you get that from like did you not know you can just go to the pause menu and head back to the main menu rather than crash the game.
When you finished a service, click on "Continue in Free Roam" which leads you back into the session where you can go on with doing what you want to do. If you want to drive a train, enter it. You dont just need to stand around.
