I wouldn't expect anything this year, though. We might get an announcement for what their first steam-era route is but I think that'll be about it. For a few months now they've been working on implementing the mechanics of working a steam train into the game. They have a few articles on Dovetail Live talking about it if you want to read them: https://live.dovetailgames.com/live/train-sim-world/articles/article/bringing-steam-to-tsw2 https://live.dovetailgames.com/live/train-sim-world/articles/article/steam-technical-considerations I think there's a third one but I can't find it.
Expect them to announce the first steam route by December, then change the details twice, then promise the final details of the route 2 weeks before release, then expect them to slyly remove some details the days before without saying anything. It is the way of DTG.
Personally, given the Spirit of Steam naming, I think this may be either the 2022 Update or a Mid-Life update like we got in May
I’d hold onto it now Sam until some of the other controversy blows over. The forum feels like a group of bloodlusting individuals scouring every published word for error at the moment .
What do you mean? They're always "a group of bloodlusting individuals scouring every published word for error" At the moment... sheesh
