Earlier today I was playing Saturday return special on NTP using the Class 101 DMU and instead of a medal I got a black tick in a white square box. What does this tick mean?
Could be one of two things 1. The route has not been updated to have a medalling system, something Koln Aachen and Rapid Transit had. I don't play the route so I'm not 100% sure about this. 2. You may not have done good enough to get a medal.
I'm pretty sure that under ordinary circumstances, you always get at least a bronze just for completing a service or scenario. The only exceptions are route intros, and free roam "scenarios".
I’d played this Saturday return special before a couple of weeks ago and got a bronze medal previously so it did have the 3 medals. Maybe this tick is something better than a gold medal? Or maybe it’s saying I’ve reached some kind of mile stone? it’s a complete mystery I’ve never seen it appear before until now?
I’ve got a few ticks in place of medals. Can’t figure it myself. Have thought it might be when there’s no internet connection to register the run on dovetail live. But I notice it more when I’ve done a timetable journey already and am viewing the list in journey mode or vice versa.
If you don't meet the scoring requirement of a bronze medal I think you get a tick. That's usually very difficult because even taking over a service half way it awards you the AI action points from before (TSW2020 doesn't do this). It could also mean there are no medals for that service. You will get a different tick in journey mode to indicate that service was played in that mode.
I’d played this before though and got a bronze so does a tick wipe out the previous bronze? Unless I didn’t get a bronze and just thought I had? It’s quite hard to tell.
So does that mean I got a higher score than what was required for a gold medal? I’m playing and viewing this tick on this run / scenario via journey mode btw.
If you get a higher score than the gold requirements you still get gold. You also get a tick for finishing on journey mode. This one is separate from the medals and basic completion tick.
The awards for a job completed go gold, silver, bronze, then tick. 100% of the points on offer will give you a gold medal and then it scales down from there. A tick basically says “You completed it, but you could do better”
