I have just downloaded the PS5 version for free (have the digital collector edition) and Boston-Providence so no problem for me
Well my hasn't and also, more to the point, Cane Creek has disappeared from the store so scratching my head there
I’m a little confused. I was under the impression that I’d be able to have two versions of TSW2 on my PS5. Now I’m thinking that if I download the free update, I’ll lose my PS4 trophy progression AND my ability to play the PS4 version on a PS5. Man, this could have surely been made so much simpler. Apologies if it is me being stupid here.
U can choose which version u wanna play. Press the option button on the TSW2 screen and u can choose PS4 or PS5 version. I have both installed
You can have BOTH PS5 and 4 versions on PS5 at same time downloading PS5 now and bought season pass Highlight the game as if you are going to start it press start click game version > and it lists PS4 and 5! Also since I own all dlc all dlc is free to me for PS5 I just need to add it to my account but you dont get charged again
I've got it done also, downloading as we speak, in UK, all my past-purchased content says "free", all I did was switch the edition of my PS4 TSW2 in the PlayStation store from the digital collector's edition to the standard, this then gave me the option for a free PS5 upgrade
I'm so confused! We were told earlier that owners of the Collector's Edition would have to wait up to 7 days for the PS5 version. However I just looked at the PS Store in the app on my phone and it now showed the free PS5 upgrade was available. I tapped download on console, turned on my console a few minutes later and I can now choose between the existing PS4 version or the PS5 version, which is still downloading (67%). In the store it shows I purchased the Collector's but also shows the standard version as being in my library. If I switch between the two, only the standard version shows the PS5 version upgrade. So have I now mucked things up by selecting this upgrade? I hope I won't lose access to the routes/locos I've already bought through various packs and standalone purchases.
We all are right now, it's quite mad tbh, check on the console asap, it should show all your pre-purchased content as free. Ya'al have to download it again mind
I think it will show as standard edition but all your routes under the PS5 version should now be marked as free (including those which were part of the collectors edition ECW, HRR and PenCor)
I can only see the Season Ticket under the PS5 section for the game. If I buy it, does it only apply to the PS5 version then?
Yes! GWE is the only one of my expansions that is stubbornly refusing to download; all others are downloading the PS5 versions successfully
So I have bought the season ticket. I'm currently downloading the ps5 update and downloading the Boston route. Is the core update coming out later today?
I bought the season ticket and it allowed me to download the PS4 and PS5 versions at the same time! (had PS4 TSW2 installed as well!)
No, basically you then go into the DLC section and it will give you the Boston Sprinter for free and it will then download both versions for you according to what variant you have. So if you didn't upgrade like me it will download both PS5 and PS4 but only the PS4 will apply but if you upgraded, it's reverse I think that's right and makes somewhat sense
same here as others. CE-107880-4 (PlayStation OS related haha bet it’s not) Nat said earlier in the week. PS5 season ticket will allow PS4 access too. I’m not taking my chances and will purchase it through the PS4 release… when it’s live
Well it seems to me that I now have a bigger issue After buying the season pass and downloading the PS4 version of the Boston Sprinter, my game won't load
just as I suspected. Have a helpful thread suggesting this may happen. Just need 1.40 onwards to be made available. Fingers crossed for Thursday afternoon..
Ah, so it's not just me then Well I've restarted my console, see if that works and if not, I'mma do what we British like to do; down the Winchester, have a pint and let it all blow over (either that or go to bed, whichever works for me hah)
It will allow you to do this… though the screen I got says the default is to download the PS5 version only; you can opt in to get both. I inadvertently started downloading the PS4 version of northeast corridor, not realising the PS5 version was already downloading… at least it’s an easier spot with the new PS4/5 labels against everything
Thanks for the answers above. Can we safely download the add-ons then only I thought it was mentioned that the DLCs wouldn't be available until later today. I've just launched the game and just have the base TSW2 content, Sand Patch etc but as people have said above, I can see that the other routes are available to me for free. Also, is anyone seeing network error in game when trying to sign in to Dovetail Live?
I think the PS4 update hasn't gone live yet which is why people may be getting the error when trying to launch Boston-Providence on PS4. It can't run without the update.
So we got to wait for an update on top of an update on top of an update? Ah well, I'mma head for bed See you al on the other side
Firstly, thank you for the prompt responses guys. I now have both versions installed. secondly, has anyone tried running the PS4 version? Mine crashes every time. Can’t get to menu screen.
Just launched and flipped between some PS5 packs on the PS5 version and all working ok (aside from GWE) Boston and BKL look awesome at a first glance, but will dive in properly tomorrow
By the way, didn't they say a few days ago that there would be a limited time launch discount for the season ticket?
There is. It's showing up as £29.69 for me with PS Plus (£32.99 without PS+ so maybe the other £2 is the launch discount) until 2nd September.

Nick, have you tried downloading the GWE route. I keep getting an error with this one and unable to download.
This does seem to be an issue as other users have also reported this. It's best to wait until the morning to see if DTG staff pick up on this. Failing that, you could submit a support ticket via Kayakoo
