Hello everyone, it’s been awhile since I last made a route suggestion. With the recent release of Boston Sprinter aka NEC: Boston - Providence, I am going to suggest another portion of the NEC Amtrak route that I like to see added. Today I am suggesting a NEC Amtrak route from New York to Trenton. The route starts from New York Penn Station in New York City to Trenton Transit Center in Trenton, New Jersey. The length of this route is 58 miles long and it can set in the same year as NEC: Boston - Providence. The route will also include two operators, Amtrak and New Jersey Transit (Northeast Corridor Line).

Maps of NEC: New York - Trenton & NJT Northeast Corridor Line

    NEC: New York - Trenton
New Jersey Transit: Northeast Corridor Line

    Timetable
Sadly I couldn’t find any timetable from 2019 (that’s if DTG decides to set the route in that year)

    A.I. services
Similar to how it was done with the NEC: Boston - Providence route, a few services from NJT should be included as a.i. only. The following services are Raritan Valley Line, North Jersey Coast Line, Montclair-Boonton Line, and Gladstone Branch.

    Layers
If players own the Long Island Railroad DLC, it should appear on this route at New York Penn Station to make the station feel busy.

    Sunnyside Yard
This yard should be included in this route as it’s owned by Amtrak. Plus it is also used by NJT as well to store trains.

    CSX
I don’t have that much knowledge of freight operations on this portion of the route but if anyone knows, please share.

DTG may not include every single rolling stock but some could be added as DLC.

If you want to make it a True Rush Hour route like Boston Providence the Newark Penn Station Newark Airport section has the Raritan Valley Line merge at Hunter interlocking therefore you are delayed to Newark Penn Station because the Raritan Valley Line train has the right of way before you then Go. ALP-45DPs 4500-4534 2021 Build 4535 are rarely encountered on the route because those are for RVL NJCL and Morristown Line. ALP-46 2001-2004 Builds are 4600-4628 ALP-46A 4629-4664

Yes you’re right about those too. I should of mention in the suggestion that DTG could include more unplayable a.i. only services like the Raritan Valley Line, North Jersey Coast Line, Montclair-Boonton Line, and Gladstone Branch.

Gladstone Branch Morristown Line Montclair-Boonton Line join NEC at Swift Interlocking. You have the dispatcher priority over them NJCL is grade separated but Union Tower Rahway dispatcher can hold you if the NJCL train needs to go local track at Rahway. Amtrak trains go pass the NJCL trains at Rahway except EWR airport Railway station where you must slow down. Midday and 8-10pm NJT NJCL NEC Lines and Amtrak have priority over RVL AI ALP-45DP to High Bridge and Raritan Stations.

That would be too long for a TSW route. That’s a total of 90.3 miles from NY Penn Station to 30th Street Station in Philadelphia.

In fact, it is not long at all. DTG wants to control the business model that maximizes mileage. DTG can sell a 100-mile route in two segments.

One more thing you forgot is that the line still runs a Comet III-V coaches. An example is the 15:26 New Brunswick to NY Penn Station 16:15 Express being a Comet III-V or a Double Decker coach. Saw this since I was at New Brunswick Station today with 6043 Being the lead car
