Finished the two covered hoppers in CN and CP liveries..... The CN version hit the layer limit but the CP one wasn't too bad. I also found a new technique for simulating the sections of very, very small text on the real vehicles which I think works quite well on these two hoppers, (It's used in three locations along the bottom of each side on each car with these two), So that will probably be something I use in future.
[BR HEAVY FREIGHT PACK] [Added Livery Designer functionality to the BR Heavy Freight Pack.] I know what I’m doing this Tuesday then haha
I’d rather have all the WSR locos and additional add-on locos. (I’m hoping they are with the WSR having its big update next week) The 40, oil tanker and small goods van ain’t much to look forward to as their liveries are pretty limited anyway. .
Anyone for a Railadventure Class 483? Currently on test on the Isle of Wright, will be doing a world tour (with batteries included :p ) soon (tm) Regards Hentis
Thank you. Have a few more ideas in my shirt pocket to hopefully test out some liveries over the next few months Regards Hentis
Did a CP Rail boxcar this weekend and again hit the layer limit with what looks like the most simplistic Livery.
Thanks. I’m not sure but it must surely be a prerequisite that existing liveries will import straight into v2. There’s a hell of a lot of man hours gone into people’s existing creations.
I am worried that there's a real chance that after porting them over to 2.0 they will see some serious damage... shapes moved, projections set incorrectly etc.
I supose the new sharing aspect will create issues. However looking forward to sharing across the ps4 estate
I’m sure they will transfer with v2, but not due to any “prerequisites” or else the PS4 users wouldn’t have to be worrying now about losing all of our liveries with the next-gen update.
Had a first play with the livery designer on PS4. It's kinda clunky in places (and crashed the game a few times), but it's a lot more usable than I expected. If v2 could somehow give us the ability to import SVG graphics (perhaps via DTG Live) the way you can in GT Sport, it would open up a whole world of opportunities for those people who can't be bothered to painstakingly assemble logos out of a few primitives (and are quite handy in Illustrator). Anyway, this is what I've done so far - a GBRf 66 and a fictional 375...
Use four superimposed shapes, each just barely smaller than the one below. They should be colored from bottom to top black-gold-black-cream. That will reproduce the black-gold-black pinstriping.
Once I got the new dlc, I knew I had to make a phase 3 f40 for amtrak with phase 3 amfleet cars to boot. It's still a work in progress but this is what I got so far. Might wait to see if they add some sort of grouping creator with livery creator 2.0 so I only have to do the logo once.
Yes like formulabee was saying, you need northern transpennine and then the heavy freight pack (which is a loco dlc) that comes with the class 40, class 08, 12t vans and the TEA tankers
The liveries are screwed for me it’s pixelated so much it’s like I’m having Minecraft graphics I really hope they’ll short it out soon as this “big update of the year” was a big failure
My very first attempt at a reskin since we can now reksin the Class 40's and it simply had to be my favourite in BR Blue, which is 013 'Andania'. (And she's still running on the mainlines today in BR Green ) Still some touch ups to be done and would love to add some weathering but I'm not that skilled.
Ask and you shall receive! I actually was working on this for some time. It's an ACS-64 in the original AEM-7 (toaster) scheme.
The F40 just looks great in Amtrak stripes. I started working on this older style MBTA livery. Probably not prototypical for this exact F40 model, but I think it fits much better than the more modern one we have in the game. The colors need a bit more tweaking and it needs more detailing, but thankfully it's a pretty simple livery and easy to make.
