As far as I can gather you need tees valley to access the 101 and potentially the 31

You need to own TVL first

Why is it TVL? NTP is a route many will have because of it being included in the Train Sim World 2020 bundle.

There is also a bug that layers won't appear first time after launching the game. When I go back to main menu and start the service again, everything works fine. I play on Series X.

You would think they would choose that. It's odd, I presume they have a reason.

I would also be interested in why you need Tees Valley and not Northern Trans-Pennines. in Matt's stream last Wednesday you saw there was only one variant of the Class 101 and when he checked the Destination Display, you saw it was the Class 101 from NTP with Leeds Huddersfield and so on.

I just checked the stream again to check that I wasn't writing any nonsense

Edit: TrainSim-Adam could you please explain to us what is going on.

It's the Tees Valley version because that's the newest version of the 101.

You are wrong. The newest version of the Class 101 is from Legends of the great western.

I must be misremembering, I just remember something being said, possibly on a stream, that the TVL 101 was chosen as it was the more up to date option. I'm pretty sure though that the Diesel Legends version is effectively the same as the Tees Valley version with some small tweaks.

Without being cynical i recon that this is to get more people to buy tees valley line, as lots will have ntp from various bundles

The TVL Class 101 also has the destinations from NTP on the blind. I think the reason the TVL one was chosen is that lots of the other new featured locos come from NTP so it gives something to players that have TVL. There may be people who have TVL but not NTP. It’ll make you, erm, no not make you, give you an incentive to go out and buy TVL if you don’t have it. The loco DLC from TVL also substitute in on WSR if you want to spend even more money and get even more happiness. Money can buy you love after all.
