Yes. Some trains turned out to be too heavy for a single locomotive, especially in bad weather.

There's a particular freight service on RRO where this is needed, as the single loco is too weak to get the freight to the end of the route. It's with a load of petroleum if I'm not mistaken

Hopefully. Funnily enough you can finish it using a 182 in timetable mode, so may just be an issue with the train's physics, although I'm sure the 182 has more power than the 185.5

182 has 6400kw that should probably explain it.

I think I know which one you mean, I drove it about two hours ago. It’s the Petroleum train from Hagen-Wuppertal Langenfeld Rbf, and it is unbelievable difficult to drive, and if you stop on the way, you won’t get it to move again. On Maximum power it just reduces its speed because it’s to heavy and the ramp is to steep

Yep, that's the one. Even if you start it at a good speed with the throttle on max, it slows down slowly until it comes to a stop

I drove it too yesterday. Couldn't handle the 1.7% steep with the 185.5. That same service.

I was able to handle it, but only because I had and was able to do it with the swing I had got

just don’t lower the power and go about 100-90 km/h per hour, that should habdle the situation. The power should be between 90-100, just don’t let the weels slip. BUT I don’t know how that behaves with wet tracks, I drove with clear weather conditions

There's a bit of wheel slip which is strange because the conditions are clear, as you can imagine the slower the train goes, the more wheel slip if you're in a high setting. So you have to keep lowering the speed setting which doesn't help the speed situation. I didn't get any wheel slip at all with the 185
