I've just downloaded this & played a short scenario from York to Northallerton in a 91...

All I can say is WOW... I'm well impressed... Barely any stutter or lag, frame rates on my laptop in the high 60's / low 70's, a few times it dipped to 21fps but there was NO noticable difference...

I think in the 35 mins the scenario ran for there was one moment where it stuttered at 21fps, but I really can't grumble...

I had to f2 past the fact I haven't got the 185 and the only constructive criticism I have is that whilst cruising at 125mph under cruise control it was saying I was speeding... Good job it wasn't a career scenario as the end report said I had been speeding 157 times...

That aside download it, I doubt you'll be disappointed... Looking forward to doing a few more scenarios... :D

I'll be looking into this as soon as I've got the 2 routes I haven't got that are needed (WCML: Trent valley and Weardale).

Weardale is often reduced to a bit over 6 quid in sales and is a very good route, so it's a bargain in and of itself.

    Not my fault! :)

I believe that has always been the case with the 91 on any route that has 125mph running unfortunately.

It has been the case since the 91 was released I believe. I'm sometimes using the F5 mini HUD with just the speedo and power/braking info and have been flagged as speeding at 124.6mph (I think?) or greater -- definitely not 125. I just ignore the notices as you can clearly use different stock on different speed limit sections and get the +0.9mph tolerance before it flags.

I'll be downloading this route later as it looks great. There has been too much quality content coming out lately for me to keep up with :)

Downloaded and waiting on the next time WCML - Trent Valley is on sale to complete the requirements. Did try it without having WCML but there's something just not quite right about not having any tracks!

Not happy with what I just read in the manual though.

"With Train Sim World gradually gaining traction I decided that I wanted to create and all
new route based around my local area with the idea that it would be my final Train
    Simulator route project"

Just did a quick Stockton to Darlington, and a quick York to Darlington and all I can say is... wow.

With regard to what he says in the above post... who cares about Train Sim World.

    A great route.

It's now got the steel works at Lackenby. The only improvement I would like to see is the blast furnace beyond (even if just 2D or low res) as it's a massive landmark.

I took a run on this last night on service 2N40 and I have to say it is yet another high quality route, as I suspected it would be. Another in the new generation of routes that offer something that pushes the sim further (in this case with its era-specific signage for scenario creators).

re: TSW - I wonder what will happen with it when SimRail comes out, especially if it's offers TSW-esque graphics with enhanced non-buggy systems and physics?

That is another discussion, but for this route and the numerous possibilities it adds into TS Classic, one has to say that if TSW had an editor out in the public tomorrow, it would take years to reach the level of quality in community content that TS Classic has been enjoying in the last 3-4 years.

Very happy to see this area of England being fleshed out further in excellent style with good performance on the fps, as this route does. Definitely worthy of a few quid in the tip jar for those of us who can run to it and enjoy the route.

I should have removed that really, it's from the original version of the manual and before the TSW editor situaton was made clearer. Besides, North East England has a hell of a lot more that needs to be added yet.

It's certainly something that needs addressing as I move the line onwards to Saltburn. As I explained in the manual, i'll have to carefully pick and choose what track to add though, there are several hundred miles of it in the Lackenby complex alone.

Just done the 2N40 Carlisle to Middlesbrough scenario, and it was fab! Looks amazing and the attention to detail is excellent.

Any scenario with the Fuller Sims 185 fails to load. I can F2 past it and it does actually work, but it's saying it cannot load the 185. I have the latest v2.2 of the FS 185, and the 185 actually works. Looks like the scenario is looking for a different 185.

Apologies about that. The 185 seems to have moved websites and been updated a few times now and broke the scenarios in V2 of the route as well, it's one of the reasons I bundled a couple of scenarios from an older era to avoid using it this time around. If this new version of the 185 is more stable in terms of no more changes that affect scenarios then i'll happily update them at some point, if not i'll just discontinue use of the 185 altogther.

So far as I'm concerned, I'll just go into TSTools and swap it for the one that works. :) It was just to let you know more than anything.

I know you've got the AP weather pack and a couple of filters applied, but this screenshot says better than anything why TSW is a development dead end!

Why buy Track Side Walker when you can get the same graphical quality from TS2021?

And in this case of this route, you get a fair amount more track and scenario scope as well.

I own TSW and for me it's in the league of "kinda okay if I fancy a change". But then I get the urge to drive Missing Link, or one of the excellent "new wave" of freeware routes like this one, the Fen Lines, SWE to Reading, Harrogate Loop, VDL (there are others) and it's clear to me that if I had to get rid of one to free up space for the other, it's TSW getting the boot every single time. If I wanted a console train sim to use once a week I'd have to put up with TSW but I don't at this point.

The scenery development on some of these TS routes now is truly top notch, and after a few runs you start to find it quite easy to orient yourself in relation to your next stop/junction/speed change which aids HUDless driving. To me that is a lot more important in a simulator than a super-shiny, graphically amazing train running on freakishly lit tree-spam routes that you doze off to :D

Just a quick note to say this issue has now been fixed and a new download is available should you wish to use it. It only affected the four scenarios originally released with V1 so these have been updated to use v2.2 of the Class 185 and the scenario manual has been updated accordingly.

I've just downloaded it and can't wait to try it.

Jus one question, after unpacking the download, there's also a folder called NEE Era-Specific Signs along with the rwp file. Am I supposed to put there somewhere in the Railworks folder too, as well as installing the rwp?

Those NEE Era-Specific Signs are for people creating their own scenarios so the station signs match the era of the trains using them
Have a look in the NEE Scenario Creation Kit.pdf

    Hi all,

    Route looks great thank you!
Quick question regarding the signage, is there a way to implement one of the eras signing packs straight into quick drive? Or is on a scenario by scenario basis?

    thanks

Following the instructions in the 'NEE Scenario Creation Kit' document provided with the route you can copy the same signage to the quick drive folders as well.

I know this is a bit late, but why wasn't the original ECML North East continued to Saltburn? It's only a few stops more than Middlesbrough...

Why not ask the person who took the time and effort to make this FREEWARE route instead of moaning here.

Something to do with how that version was based off the original East Coast Main Line route which wasn't laid 100% accurately (before Google Earth overlay was a thing) which meant parts of the route wouldn't line up to the correct overlay making the route difficult to build (If I remember rightly the section via Yarm wasn't added as the tracks wouldn't connect correctly at Northallerton without laying it inaccurately).

I'm not sure if anyone else is having the same issue but all of the route from Stockton to Sunderland as well as Middlesbrough has no scenery. I have all the requirements.

Stockholm to Sunderland requires the North Sea Tunnel pack to be installed.
