    Hopefully they'll have a longer career on SE. Problem was between them being ordered by SWT and delivery the DfT imposed requirements in the franchise spec that the 707s couldn't meet. Hence the new 701 Fleet

    I understand long term the 707s will be replacing the MetCam Networkers as their GTO drive is now obsolete (IGBT quickly proved superior so there were only ever a hand full of GTO types in the UK and some have been converted to IGBT)

    From what the SE website says this would be about right. They're going to be restricted to short duration commuter shuttles in essence.
