Today i will suggest an Belgium route! Route L89 form Kortrijk - Brussel - Dendermonde. Its 61,2 km/ 38,02 miles long. The route has 14 stations (Kortrijk - Oudenaarde - Zottegem - Denderleeuw - Brussel - Dendermonde). There are a lot of services (S, IC, P-train [extra train if it is busy]). Safety systems are TBL1+/2. Around 2022 will ERTMS replace the TBL safety system We could see ICE AI services and TGV AI services in Brussel Rolling stock: -AM08 ML Desiro is an EMU from Siemens and used as S train on this route (S3), max speed is 160 km/h - HLE18/19 there are based one the ES 2007 from Siemens They operate mostly with the M6 Double Deckers HLE18/19 M6 built by Siemens & Alstom. They are used as IC train. Max speed is 160kmph (some improved to 200kmph) As loco DLC we would get the AM80. Its an older rolling that is used for IC-services (IC-13) AM96, its designed on the DSB IC3. It drive as IC from Brussel Airpot Zaventem to Kortrijk and then further to Oostende. https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/MS96 AM96 is inspired on the DSB IC3(rubber end walls). Its and EMU(3-wagons). Its used as IC13 Kortrijk – Schaerbeek & on IC23 Oostende – Brussel Airport Zaventem. Because of the rubber end walls the unit can be coupled and u can open the front so there is an walk-through option. Info AM96: build between 1996-2000(120 units), V-max 160 kmph ( mph), uses TBL1+, ETCS/ERTMS & KVB as safety system, this train does have air conditioning, that’s why its meant to drive long- distance services. HLE27 is a older loco that is used as IC-13 from Kortrijk to Schaerbeek & IC23 from Oostende to Brussel Airport Zaventem, it drives with SNCB M4 coaches + cab car (we need this because it doesn’t drive as sandwich on this route) Info HLE27: build between 1981-1987(60 units), V-max 160kmph( mph), TBL1+ as safety system, HLE 2742 till 2760 has GF-coupling at 1 side of it to couple with M6 Info SNCB M4 cab car: build between 1979-1984(580 units), V-max 160kmph ( mph), TBL1+ as safety system, the train don’t have air conditioning… HLE21 looks like the HLE27 but it only has 2 Traction motors and the HLE27 has 4. It is used as P-train between Kortrijk & Brussel Schaarbeek(M5 IC-13). Most of the time it operates with an SNCB M5 and sometimes with an M4 or M6 Info HLE21: build between 1984-1988(60 units), V-max 160kmph ( mph), TBL1+ as safety system Info SNCB M5: build between 1979 – 1984(130 units), V-max 140kmph ( mph), TBL1+ as safety system https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/HLE_27 https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/M4_(spoorwegrijtuig) https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/HLE_21) https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/M5_(spoorwegrijtuig) https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/MS96 Around end 2021 the new SNCB M7 that will replace the SNCB M4, and if the route is set then we might get the M7 too as DLC for this route route: https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/Spoorlijn_89 TBL1+: https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/TBL_1+ TBL2 https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/TBL_2 AM08 Desiro ML: https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/MS08 HLE18/19: https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/HLE_18_en_19 M6 Double Decker: https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/M6_(spoorwegrijtuig) AM80: https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/MS80 M7: https://nl.wikipedia.org/wiki/M7_(spoorwegrijtuig)
Excellent idea and it's time for Belgian SNCB/NMBS routes and a new safety system to use. Does the line operate with Memor II or not?
i did, its a very busy route and almost every rollingstock that SNCB own drives on this route so great for DLC's! If they ever can make exstentions we could see one from Kortrijk to Oostende, then there will be freight & shunting in Brugge & Oostende!
I do think that it's better to wait till the Antwerp-Brussels route get's announced and maybe Antwerp - Kortrijk could be a thing. I don't think you can sell DLC based on the name Kortrijk.
why tho? Name doesn't matter look at HMA f.e. just München - Augsburg so it can be Kortrijk - Dendermode. This route would be more alive bcs of Eurostar, Thalys/OuiGo/ ICE that operates here.
Are you really comparing Kortrijk to München? I already heard rumours about Kortrijkzanen being full of themselves
no u were talking about names, im not comparing the stations i just wanted so say why is Kortijk - Dendermonde not good for u but Antwerp-Brussel is?
Oh I was just joking around. But my name and avatar should give it away why I prefer an Antwerp route. But really doesn't matter which Belgian route would be added.
aha, but i think because it will be the first belgian route, its better to sart with not something big just like Antwerp yk, its very big, very busy and thngs can go wrong...
Good point and for HLD77 that can serve as the yard Shunter with AI appearance on Schnellfahrstrecke Köln-Aachen where a double headed HLD77 is replaced by DB BR185.2 Rallion paint if Main Spessart Bahn was purchased or 185.5 if either the West German route Rhein-Ruhr Osten was purchased or Riesa-Dresden former East Germany was purchased. The Antwerpen based HLD77 did appear on SKA West end in 2017-2021 with Steffan Hochstetter taking the picture for Bahnbilder.De. that means a NMBS/SNCB route like Antwerpen-Brussel can give Rhein-Ruhr Osten Schnellfahrstrecke Köln-Aachen Germany to Belgium freight services. Only HLE28 Bombardier has PZB LZB Sifa installed Belgian freight locomotives going to Germany must stop at Aachen Rothe Erde or Aachen West for 185.5 182.2 DLC SKA DB BR187 to take over service.
indeed, it would give a lot of opportunities for German & Belgium routes, and maybe later for French routes. But indeed it would be cool too see HLR77 around there, maybe later (because AM66 does drive on L89 too for a short part) AM66 that stops in Aachen!
Speaking of AM66 does it operate L89 local services or intercity. One of these is a P train NMBS rush hour service
