My PS4 Pro is developing a bad inductor coil whine problem (buzzing sound), which is a problem with the PS4 itself, but it only happens on some games, and unfortunately this is one of them. At first it was just in the menus but it's now somewhat audible when playing the game too.
Yes, again on PS5. Seems only in menus or loading screens and only started since the last PS Update (at the same time the slow loading started and DLC disappeared if you have over certain number installed).
The menu screens have no fps cap, that's way fans are going beserk. DTG is aware of it, but I assume this is not very high on their priority list.
What's the sound like? For some reason, my ps4pro spins the cd drive. This is the source of the sound in the menu.
Like the fan from the playstation when you play very big games but normally the fans slow down when you go to menu. With TSW2 they start to spin harder when you are in the menu screen.
Having played TSW 2 on a PS4, it is 100% the fan. The difference between the sound of the disc drive and the fan in the PS4 is distinguishable to say the least.
All my games are digital. I never use the diskdrive. I know the sound of the fan of my PS4 Pro and it is the fan
Just for clarity I'm talking about coil whine and not fan noise, although the menus of TSW2 will may well cause fan to work hard too. The sound my unit makes is very similar to that in this video (you may need to turn volume up). That buzzing sound comes from an inductor in the PSU, not the fan (you can take the top off a PS4 pro without taking out screws, and stop the fan with your finger; you'll hear the noise continues). As I say it's really a defect in the PlayStation, it's just annoying that this game causes it more than others. Here's a (long) video where a guy goes about diagnosing it and ends up finding you just need to resolder the connections in the PSU. I wish I had the skill & knowhow to do that myself. Maybe one day
I mentioned this when I first loaded up the PS5 version. For me it’s only in the menus, the route selection tiles. Buzz gets louder as you move left and right to a different route tile then settles a little. Memory usage in this menu, routes not being displayed in this menu even though installed…..coincidence?
PC owner here. Speaking plainly, the main menu is an unoptimized mess. For context, main menu performance currently maxes out utilisation and temps on an RTX 3080. FPS cap limits have zero effect A PC mod has since resolved this. My advice to all console owners is for each and every one of you to report this. the louder you shout, the more likely DTG are to take notice and fix it

[/ QUOTE] You should put it on top of 4 corks. because I never turn mine off, (it remains at rest) and it does not heat up. They will advise me that when I buy it. I have all the DLC's and that doesn't happen to me. but I know what you say is true because my vicino has that problem, because it overloads the coil, the rotation is such that it heats up, the sound is strong. try to leave a small space between the console and the furniture where you have it. I put 4 corks that cut fine, with 0.5 cm. I put them in the corners. My vicino did the same and since it does not heat up, it does not make so much noise, also as it is on top of the cork, it is badly heard. but yes, that happens.
For some reason when you switch through your routes and it loads in the different drivers outfits it causes lots of lag for me. I wish they’d just remove the 3d driver models since I don’t care what the guy wears.
