I felt like changing my profile avatar and uniform today but I cannot figure out how you do it since the core update... I saw some really old posts saying you need to log out form dovetail live in game, but trying that warns me its going to delete my profile data and I certainly don't want to do that. Anyone know?
I had the same idea, but the only thing you can do with your avatar is choose another one. During drives, DTG will take care of the uniforms, so not so much to worry about. It is a missing feature, but not a very big issue, I think.
DTG Natster is there a way to change our avatar? I get that the uniform now seems to be controlled by the route you're running, but it would be nice to change the human you're driving as from time to time. I don't want to be stuck with one forever...
This has been a long-standing request that has, unfortunately, fallen on deaf ears up until now. I too would like the ability to edit my avatar.
I don't so much mean edit it Tanglebones I just want to be able to select from the ones available in the game. You used to be able to set it to anything you wanted from the available set, but you cannot anymore it seems - at least if you can I cannot find where its done.
You choose it when you first setup your profile. I don't think you can edit after the first time unfortunately Victor unless you create a new profile.
hey, I also wish it was possible to change the avatar/character in the game afterwards. Should this be possible at some point?
Changing your avatar is something on the list to be done - i'll talk to the UI team next week and see where it sits.
Have there been any news on this yet? This is a feature I've been craving for ever since I realized you can choose your hair colour through random selection.
Sorry not got an update for you - will shout as soon as I do. UI team are embroiled in the AddonManager shenanigans.
There is going to be a spinner like in "Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome" where you spin for avatar and uniform, and whatever it lands on, you get.
Also just for context, Nat no longer works with Community on Train Sim World, she's currently a producer for CATAN: Console Edition
Here we are in TSW5 by now and we still cant change our character, come DTG why has this not been added yet after so many years
Don't think that's especially high on their priority list - if at all, implementing a feature requested by less than ten players. Most games require you to start a new game = new profile for player change. If I start with J.C. Denton, I'll stick with him till the end
I miss the hairstyle I picked for mine back in TSW2. TSW3 introduced her going bald any time she was driving a TGV, and TSW4 gave her a buzz cut everywhere.
I never really paid attention to mine. I just chose a random one without giving it any thought. I have a mental image in my head of what she looks like though.
Eh, I don't think having to pay for cosmetic DLCs would be great imo. However, I think it could be another thing to add to Mastery, where each DLC comes with like 2-4 cosmetics or something (w/e would be feasible anyway) and you'd have to complete a 3rd tier of the mastery to unlock them. Maybe there'd be other things you can do in game to unlock rare cosmetics or something - Matt's pink headphones anyone? XD
Gives a neat possibility for a themed outfit per route where each piece like some headgear, a jacket, trousers, and a shirt for example, comes from completing one of the route collections.
If we don't bug them about it, our avatars are going to continue to get sanded down more and more each iteration of TSW into amorphous blobs. I miss mine's hair.
Has there been anything new to report in the meantime on this, since the Addon Manager business was dealt with?
TSW6 comes out later this year!! i really hope this comes to it. I'm totally stuck with this short-haired woman!
UI team must really be deep into a lot of things since they could not afford to give 10-20 hours of work for a profile editor. DTG needs a lot more money than what we spend currently
It is absurd that in the switchover between versions a couple of years back, all of us women with the ponytail and men with that buzzcut got our hairs swapped permanently, presumably because some variable got toggled somewhere that wasn't supposed to...
