My suggestion is for the Chiltern Mainline route from London Marylebone to Birmingham New Street (or part of). The entire route covers 112 miles via High Wycombe, Banbury and Leamington Spa.
The locomotives included could be... Class 165/0 DMU Mk3 Coaches Mk3 DVT Class 68 Diesel Electric Locomotive
Future DLCs could encompass... Class 168/0 Clubman DMU Class 168/1 Clubman Turbostar DMU Class 168/2 Turbostar DMU Class 172/1 Turbostar DMU
More DLC options are... Class 115 DMU in BR Blue, BR Blue/Grey, Early Network Southeast and Late Network Southeast with Chiltern sub branding Later Chiltern Railways Silver livery seen on all current types
This route exists in TS22 the whole length London to Birmingham Snow Hill Made by Just Trains. Standard were 170 168 & Class 68 MK3 coach. This route if made for TSW2 can introduce Just Trains in order to prevent what is going on with both Skyhook and Rivet Games DLCs
I think 112 miles is abit of a stretch for dtg right now and will new trains that would be a rush hour type of project with everyone helping out to build the route
I'd really like to the see the Chiltern Line, Turbostars and 68s, whatever it is, it's really a wonderful, yet busy Diesel Mainline, I would buy this In a flash. Great Choice elarthur. The only thing is, it may be a bit lengthy for DTG, maybe London - Oxford would be a good shout? You realise it's up to JT to decide what they want to do, when they want to do it. Also, what on earth has this to do with Skyhook or Rivet. I'll awnser that: Nothing, nothing at all. DTG would be the only ones even considering this in the most likely scenario, so Rivet and Skyhook have nothing to do with it. Also, Cornwall looks alright, and that's one of the UKs most scenic routes off the bat.
This is a great suggestion. Although the full 112 miles would be a bit ambitious, something like Birmingham to Banbury could work. The class 68 would undoubtedly be popular and the 165 would be easy for them to implement with the 166 already on GWE
Bicester North would be the end point for the main CML I assume? Also maybe include Calvert for the 5 or 6 waste trains a day to and from there.
Yeah I'd say Bicester North is a decent ending point. They could also throw in some GWR on the Oxford Line as well, so it's a good shout.
If we get anything under DTG’s London centric thinking, likely to be Marylebone to Aylesbury with maybe the Met into Baker Street bolted on. A good candidate for the Rush Hour treatment and scope of layers, depending on era. If done with S stock (not my first choice) then the A60s could be part of a retro DLC along with the old Class 115 DMUs.
Chiltern Mainline From Oxford To Marylebone Would Be More Of A Good Route I Reckon Its a local route close to me so i would suggest that stretch of track
