    Introduction
The Class 25 is a type 2 diesel loco built in the 1960s. This loco would fit very well on NTP and would really be the cherry on the top for an already superb route. The loco was common around the Manchester area in the route’s time period as many were allocated to Longsight Diesel. 9B409EB8-466E-4D89-9105-5E11BEEC9155.jpeg

    Scenarios
    Sulzer Saviours
A Class 47 has failed whilst departing from Manchester. Bring a pair of Class 25s into service at Newton Heath TMD and take the failed train over to Huddersfield, where a more suitable loco is waiting to take the train. Upon arrival in Huddersfield shunt the failed 47 into the yard and shut down the Class 25s. Another driver will take them back to Manchester later.

    Drowned Rat
Drive a Class 25 from Leeds to Manchester with a passenger service. As the journey progresses, the weather worsens until is it a full rain storm.

    Services
Services could include regional passenger services using MK1 coaches reliveried to BR Blue, and also swapping onto some freights if the Heavy Freight pack is owned.

    Class 31
Since this thread is about NTP, I thought I’d throw this in as well. The Class 31 would also fit very well onto NTP, so this DLC would be a good opportunity for it to swap onto some services. It would fit well onto the MK1 passenger services and would also fit on plenty of the already existing Heavy Freight pack services. This would make NTP one of the most diverse and interesting routes in the game.

My guess is, that dtg is releasing more classic thrash locos with new steam routes, which will be ready at some point.

Actually driving on those classic routes like tees valley line and ntp is part of my favourite experience in tsw.

Additional to the op's request a cl56 grid with layers for tvl is also on top of classic uk content

Class 57 for gwe layers: (as far i understood they are built out of cl47.)

Class 73 Gatwick Express with london commuter tour layers:

Yes please though I would like to see the Class 25/0 as well, complete with working steam heat!

not the first time i saw a class 25 suggested for NTP, But i can see why it can be a good fit, might i also suggest the 25/2 this can add a Variant with a gangway door, which would make a nice variation.

I'm actually slightly surprised we haven't yet seen any variants of the 25 in train sim world! I suppose its a valid point that they could fit in well with steam routes in the future, and make for a route that contains both steam and diesel traction. The 25 and the 50 personally the next "old diesels" I'd like to see. And as for modern, I'd love a 68 in DRS but I'm not sure DTG have the license for DRS.

Class 73 can also run TVL NTP WCL since it has a diesel engine. Blue Star MU code Class 73 under diesel power which makes it suited to piggyback behind Class 31 20 37 TVL NTP Class 45 DLC Class 40 the one being proposed Class 25 WCL Class 37. Lastly WSR Class 33.

Excellent idea but Class 47 isn't MU Capable with Class 25 due to it having Green Circle. That scenario you made Sulzer Saviour should be Class 25/3 with Class 45 due to both being Blue Star MU locomotives. The same applies to Class 40 DLC Heavy Freight since it has a Blue Star MU like Class 25 & 45.

Class 73 only had a 600 hp diesel engine so wouldn't be able to haul much over the Pennines.

The MU codes only apply when all locomotives are under the control of the leading locomotive. If the 47 had failed, the MU code is irrelevant. If it was operable, they could work in tandem with a driver in each locomotive.

Thanks for the tip and if the MU Code was working does that mean a Class 73 can be controlled by Class 45 25 37 40 & 33 locomotive except 33/1 SR MU System.

Yes, any of those (including the 33/1), but only if working on diesel. As they were based on the Southern Region of BR the Class 33 would be the most likely sight.
