You Know You're A Railfan When.......

I'll go first: You know you're a railfan when you're able to notice when people get rail industry terms wrong and it irks you.
Now then, lets see what little habits and nuances, however serious or non-serious, y'all can come up with on this one.

 

A slight variation.
You know you’re a TSW fan when
irl the sight of a blank poster frame irks you.

 

...and you walk up to it and expect the poster to magically appear.

 

... you know that an EMU isn't just a Big Bird.

 

...you leave the dinner table during dinner to go see a train.

 

You sit next to the cab door in UK trains to hear the AWS and vigilance alarms .

 

You still watch Thomas at 38. Or maybe that’s just me

 

...you enjoy the journey more than the destination.

 

Or in my case when the first episode aired and within ten seconds I blurted out, "Annie and Clarabel aren't four-wheelers!" with the same mixture of contempt and fury that some people express when they see the Union Flag flying upside down.

 

When you go past a railway line and always turn my head around in the hope a train will appear

 

When your riding onboard a northern service from man vic to leeds thinking, hope to see a 101 at some point...

 

I saw a caboose in full operation in Norfolk, VA!!!! For those who don't know is that caboose operations NEVER HAPPEN in this area or at least next on the old Virginian main line.

 

... someone says a train goes choo choo and you just get filled with rage you literally buy an air horn, blow it next to them, and say this is what they used to sound like.
