We already have several European locomotives on TSW2. But there are 2 models we still not have, which I believe there must be on the simulator: 1) Siemens Vectron BR 193 This is a great locomotive by Siemens launched after Taurus. It is used for both passenger and freight services. Mainly in Germany and Austria, but also on others European countries too. In this case DTG already have license with DB and Siemens, so there should not be problems about it 2) Stadler Eurodual BR 159 This is really a fantastic locomotive! May be not so known, due to it is relative new. It's name includes the word "Eurodual", due to it can run as an electric or a diesel locomotive! So on electrified or not routes. This has made this locomotive be already successful, as more than 100 units have been sold! I have seen it on lot of videos on youtube, with quite different freight companies It design it is really modern and nice. For DTG point of view it is more complicated: - DB does not have it (Hope will purchase units soon!) - DTG does not have Stadler trains yet either. So it will be great if they get Stadler license! But not only for this locomotive. This will be useful for other great trains this Swiss company already produce. Mainly EMUs already running on Germany - Stadler Kiss- and other worldwide countries too.. They also produce the Stadler Eurolight. A modern diesel locomotive already in use in UK as Class 68 Which will be nice to have it on TSW2 too! Other issue about the Eurodual, is the complexity of making an electric + diesel locomotive at the same time for the simulator. But considering this is a rally nice and powerful locomotive, I suggest DTG to do this in 2 stages. - First launched as an electric locomotive only - Second stage later, to make an upgrade adding the diesel functionality Of course please notice for forum members who likes old locomotives, there is already available the BR 155, and the BR 232 Diesel will be coming relative soon. What do you think about these 2 great new locomotives on TSW2 for next year?
When Austrian Federal Railways ÖBB arrives in the game that locomotive is called ÖBB 1293 001-080 Germany Austria Italy Slovenia equipment the second batch 1293 173-200 has the necessary equipment to run Belgium and Netherlands including the Duisburg Oberhausen-Arnhem Railway.
Would be really nice to see something other than TRAXX I agree, especially the Vectron is a must have!
Class 68 is from TS22 home route Chiltern Mainline/ Fife Circle. Therefore it's a TS22 locomotive that must come to TSW2
Agreed. Would love to see some older locomotives. For the UK we could use some older electrics, as we already have a selection of historic diesels. For Germany, anything historic would do I guess.
Purno and Dinosbasci Thanks for your comments. But as I mentioned there are already several old locomotives for passenger, freight and shunting. From UK lot of them. Ok electric not so much. As to Germany as I mentioned there is already available BR 143 - ok not so old but not last generation - , and BR 155 both electric, and the BR 363 + BR 204 for shunting. The BR 232 diesel locomotive and BR 420 EMU are coming. Of course there are several "tastes" about trains in the community, as it is expected. Some prefers only old trains, others new trains, and others like me a mix of them. As some prefers passenger only, others freight and others like me both of them. In this case I was specifically focusing on electric new locomotives - and the Class 68 diesel- , to asks / requests / hopes DTG include them on the sim, asap. Of course this should be next year.
One interesting fact about the Stadler Eurodual for TSW2, should be to use it on Main Spessart Bahn route! You could drive it the full route length and arrive to Aschaffenburg, on "electric mode". Then you change to "diesel mode", and go to the "industrial area", up to the yard there!. This Scenario could have a second part, when you include the BR 204, and make shunting with the freight cars, and take them to different tracks of this area! Furthermore on other routes that have some yards with no electrification - not used yet - , you could do the same with the Stadler. Make the "last mile" movement to the yard and stop there. I believe that would be great!
You mean something like this locomotive appearing the Port of Aschaffenburg. Videos are by Alexander Emmerth &
driverwoods Thanks for your reply. What I mean, it was not the Stadler loco goes to the port itself. Just to go to the yard on that area. Then a shunting locomotive - like the BR 204- takes the freight cars to the different tracks on that area. This could be an Scenario. Of course I do not know if this happens on the real world, and only shunting locomotives goes to the industrial area. It was just an idea considering using it with the special"dual power" mode of it, on the simulator I saw a video of this locomotive pulling a train, and after leaving the main line on electric mode, then change to diesel and goes to a single track branch line to deliver the cargo. This resembles me to MSB route. Of course you could take the freight cars directly to the port with the Eurodual instead of using a shunting locomotive instead.
Driverwoods I have just saw the first video - sorry I was busy previously - and really surprised to see the EuroDual directly on the Port of Aschaffenburg! When I posted my "idea" of using it on MSB and take it to the Industrial area, did not know this specific locomotive already runs there on real world! So thank you so much for it! Then this is another issue to help the chance to have this locomotive on TSW2 and MSB! But apart from that, it can be used on the other german routes too!. If I am not wrong I believe there are other non electrified yards or small areas on other routes when this feature can be used too!
On the first German Schnellfahrstrecke route we have Schnellfahrstrecke Köln-Aachen it can work the un electrified sidings at Düren & Stolberg Ruhr-Sieg Nord with DB BR363 although you never see them inside the big marshalling yard Rangierbahnhof Hagen Vorhalle. Since it's a DB BR294 job TS22 DB BR 261 2022 onwards a DB BR280.5
I just discovered this thread. The Vectron and EuroDual are my absolute favourites outside Japanese rolling stock, and we all know a lot of people like them in all train sim communities. While waiting for places like Japan to be added to TSW2 is not very realistic at the moment, I certainly hope the devs will at least recreate these beauties for the sim. If even that is a problem and we are stuck with the same-looking, boring rolling stock every release cycle and will never see these recreated in a modern sim engine, that would be a great shame.
Welcome Commiee to this post I created last year. Nice you like both modern electric locomotives I suggested at that time. Great to see in one of your pictures about DB has already ordering them! (At least I guess that! ) With current situation of the game, at least I expect the new announced "mysterious" German route it includes the Vectron
As to the Eurodual, could be more difficult due to the fact it is a "hybrid" model, from the propulsion point of view. But considering DTG has already developed "tilting" and other special systems, this could be possible. They already have experience on electric locomotives and diesel ones, so they will have to make the "interface" between them
Hm, that's interesting - I don't really follow development announcements as I've almost lost hope for seeing Japanese routes, so did not know about the new announcement. Having the Vectron would be really nice, even if it's with yet another German route, although I'd personally prefer to see it bundled with an Austrian one - two novelties in one package ^^
ÖBB 1293 Vectron Austria there are two versions 001-085 Italy Slovenia equipped 173-200 are Netherlands and Belgium capable. Siemens Vectron DB BR193 Germany ELL BR193 Netherlands.
To have a Japanese route, will be very interesting!. I had the chance to ride on the Shinkansen in the past, 2 times: Nagoya to Osaka and Nagoya to Tokyo. Both on the JR700! It was an incredible experience. But this new "special" country it is quite different! Even they use quite different "letters / symbols", and other special modes of operating the trains, and signals. I guess this will require DTG lot of development, but not sure how many members would like Japanese trains. An Austrian route, I believe will have more chances instead. Due to it seems to be more similar to German ones.
They have at least some indications: https://forums.dovetailgames.com/threads/what-new-country-you-want-to-see-next-in-tsw2.35453/ but we're even stuck at not knowing whether Vectrons and Austrian routes will ever be made, and that is strange from a sim that is clearly aiming to be the principal one in its genre, has had ambitious plans like implementing multiplayer, and developers of which talk about wanting to explore options of more countries and tell people to come to this suggestions section to make proposals.
I remember that poll now. Thanks. Of course Japanese trains is a completely different "world of trains", which will be interesting to have someday in the future on TSW2. But frankly speaking - in my opinion - I believe DTG are not going to take this challenge soon. They will have to travel to Japan, and all is quite different there! Even please notice, - surprisingly - most people does not speak English there![/QUOTE]
All the 3 would be cool to have! The new Dual Mode Stadler (BR 159) is imo very nice and it would be good to have than diesel and electric mode in game for shunting etc (MSB yard,...). Ofc we cannot forget the Vectron, used very much in and around germany and could be layered/subbed in lot of routes! Last but not leastthe Class 68. Rather having it as Scotrail at some Scotish route than a dlc imo!
I don't want to derail this thread by making it about Japanese content - let's hope we see these three locos and routes accommodating them in TSW2 in the near future. Do any train sims have these locos already? How difficult is it to get licencing for them considering they are new models (especially the EuroDual)?
I agree with you about the Class 68, and to have a "modern" Scotish route with other trains too.. As to Eurodual locomotive, we could also use it for shunting on other routes! For example on Koln - Aachen / Munich - Augsburg / Hamburg - Lubeck, there are also some yards - in some cases not used yet -, we could make some shunting: - first creating our train. - then make the run to other yard .
Correct and if fully electrified yard Eurodual DB BR159 can work alongside it's ÖBB equivalent the ÖBB1264 battery electric rebuild of ÖBB1064 found inside Wien Kledering
Please notice Train Simulator - also from DTG! - has already launched the Stadler Eurodual! This is helpful and very important for me to do this request.
I am aware, but the EuroDual for Passau-Linz is from RSSLO, and I'm not sure if they had full licencing for the loco. As we know, DtG has said TSW2 will only have content with full licencing, hence me wondering if that would be an obstacle or not.
Well... hopes RSSLO could become TSW2 developer and become this fantastic locomotive available. If not, DTG themselve could do it.
At least they already have contact with Stadler due to the Swiss route and RAB 423. Despite is a Rivet product instead, they must have contact with Stadler.
Good point and so Rivet Games make the DB BR159 Red version. However this opens the possibility of making its smaller brother the Eem 923 shunter working Rangierbahnhof Basel Muttenz and Olten Coach Yard. Let's see if Rivet Games can make a dual mode locomotive from Alstom the Aem 940 which runs the Zürich Limmattal Hump Yard also Luzern Sursee local freight shared with DB BR159 smaller brother the Eem 923.
We already have the 101, 146, 185, 187, G6, 422, 423 and 425 so your flawed logic kinda backfired at ya. Historic vehicles are interesting, the "stuff" you mentioned aren't especially since it doesn't offer anything over the 187 apart from the exterior design.
The vectron could be pretty likely in TSW2 eventually, I hope the eurodual will be added at some point but I feel like they could test a Electric/Diesel locomotive feature with the Traxx AC3 aka the BR 187 as it technically does possess the ability to perform Shunting duties with it's diesel engine or "Last Mile" Mode(If it is ever fixed that is), but I do see where you are coming from with the eurodual having a much more powerful and durable Diesel engine. I wonder what they'll be adding next, hopefully not another new instance of the Traxx AC2.
The Swiss Federal railway crocodile locomotives would be a great electric locomotive for Train Sim World because they have connecting rods like a steam engine and the also have an air whistle and they were built 1919-1927 and they were successful until retirement in 1982.
Goes well with Erstfeld Bellinzona Gotthardbahn route via Ariolo as the rail tour locomotive with Re 620 Re 6/6. However Rabe 503 Rabe 501 take the 2016 Base Tunnel so is the RE474 RE484 RE620 heavy freight brake mode G. Can layer to Luzern Sursee
the Eurodual is indeed a beautiful loc but the BR187 has a option to drive on last mile that is diesel that can be used for unelectfried yards and the 187 is already in game.
The train had ETCS but not anymore unfortunaly (could set it on atleast), but i agree they should implent that.
Yes, I know about the "last mile" feature of the BR187. But was not developed for this locomotive. Despite of that, the Eurodual can run much more km on Diesel. Then could be used on other routes too, like SEHS, or even GWE. Of course a Scenario must be created, but this is not a problem.
If developing this locomotive could be much complicated for DTG - due to the 2 different power sources -, my suggestion is to launch it first as a pure electric locomotive only! Then later, aT a second step "launch", including the diesel engine functionality one! What do you think?
These locomotives you mentioned, already have much years on service!. The Eurodual is a newer electric locomotive specifically for heavy duty with 6 axles. For me it's like the "replacement" of the great BR 155! I like this locomotive very much! It is old, but it was beautifully made for TSW2. Even the sounds are great! The Vectron is the newest Siemens locomotive for both passenger and cargo. But, please do not get me wrong! I like both old and new trains. In this case, I am just suggesting to include the newest electric locomotives to TSW.
We could maybe get the railpool vectron as it hauls DB Regio service's somewhere in germany although i don't know where just that DB Regio Bayern uses them
That should be nice! The only issue, is they will have to add the front destination screen to the locomotive, which the regular Vectron does not have. May be at launch time to have the normal version, then on some update add other variants. Please also notice there is a pure diesel version of this locomotive too.!
That is nice! Hopes DTG launched a BR155 on those colors for some route. May be the new German one?...
Don't think so as the 155 is a bit old and i don't know how many they have and also i was looking around on the railpool site and found this Additional Equipment so i guess DB Bayern choose to get them installed on the vectron when they ordered it and you can also see it blank on the pic
These are meant for Schnellfahrstrecke Nurnberg Erfurt SNE that's why they have ETCS PZB LZB Sifa and the destination
I would say that while it would be great to see these locos at some point, it's fair to say that modern European freight locos is the area in TSW where we're most blessed in terms of variety, and with the relatively slow pace of new rolling stock, I'd like to see creators focus on creating experiences we don't already have, or broadening out the other categories - e.g. more UK stock, more European passenger stuff, more older stuff.
