Well, this title is gonna get confusing if it didn't have the word 'Epic' in it.

    Also:
What? Pretty sure there's no 'team' on the Great Western Express

There are 3 s's so it would technically say steam

And now I just realized after that
What are you guys up to?
[Now the 'team' part is removed, but still left the extra 's' at the end

I can’t find the Preserved Collection on Epic, only the individual routes and locos. How much is the collection and how do I get it? As I already have many of these routes for Xbox, it would be a good opportunity to expand my Epic version on PC.

It isn't a collection where you get them all together. Preserved collection simply means routes and locos from TSW2020 that have been ported over to TSW2, hence the preserved part. You have to get them individually.

Oh that’s a shame. The term “collection” implies that it will be available as a package (in my opinion). I thought that would be a cheaper way to increase my PC version. As these are ageing DLCs (albeit improved by the preservation team), I think it’s a pity that we have to pay the full original price for them. That’s their prerogative I suppose.

A package (or several smaller packages) at a lower price than buying the routes individually. might encourage more sales especially from those of us who have them already on another platform.

No. Steam and Epic are 2 separate stores. As such you cannot move DLC between the 2.

Does Epic have TSW2020 available? That gets you four routes (console) or five routes (PC) for one very reasonable price.

    No, Epic only has TSW2.

Hmmm, that's a bit of a let down.
I bought TSW2020 deluxe on a great deal along with some other DLCs.
These were obviously carried forward to TSW2 when I bought it.
    It's a shame there isn't a TSW2020 deal on Epic as an incentive. :(

Weird that on PlayStation and Xbox, routes and locos from tsw2020 can be transferred to tsw2, and the preserved collection for both came out at the same time. Same goes for steam as well. But for epic, no tsw2020, and content from steam cannot be transferred, and preserved collection from epic came out a year later! Not even a discount is given.

remember Epic and Steam are two different platforms like PS and XBox, so you wouldn’t be able to transfer DLC from one to another in the same that you PS DLC would not transfer to XBox.

As for why it’s taken a while to bring preserved collection to Epic I have no idea… but remember TSW2020 was never available on Epic so that may be part of it.

TSW2020 is the predecessor to TSW2 so the routes that class as "preserved" on TSW2 were originally released in TSW2020 (or just TSW), ie there WAS no such thing as preserved collection at that time and still isn't for TSW2020

DTG JD - worth changing the title to something including "Epic" to avoid everyone else thinking this post applies to them?

Is there RailDriver support for the Epic preserved routes or are they being made to wait like the Steam version?

Actually, it is technically possible. Whether DTG frowns on this is another question.

I thought it would just be a matter of drag and drop using the right folders? Or is it a bit more involved?

Only in the first instance. Whether layers etc react appropriately is another matter and of course any faults would be completely unsupported

I'm no coder but it is still PC no? Would the game be re-written to that extent rather than a few folders being renamed? Forgive my ignorance. Agree it would not be supported in any way, just was curious.

Out of curiosity, why are you guys buying this stuff on Epic if you already have it on Steam? What's the point? Why don't you stick to steam?

I haven't got this on Epic only Steam. I was just curious if it could be done. I only have some UK routes on Steam and no way I could afford to buy this stuff a second time, lol.

Recently some discounts have been larger on Epic than on Steam, that could certainly be a motivation :)

I doubt they've rewritten too much. They obviously had to do SOME work else they could have released everything in one go months ago
