    Hello,
I purchased TSW2 through the Xbox app on my PC a few weeks ago and all worked well. I have just seen the West Cornwall addon and would like to get it but the in game store is empty. I have searched for West Cornwall on the Xbox app for the PC but it is not there.
How can I get West Cornwall addon for TSW2 I have already purchased?
    B regards,
    Jon

Presumably if you bought it through the Xbox App, you have bought the Xbox version (which may be playable on PC). I assume that it won’t let you buy the PC version of the West Cornwall route because you don’t own the base game for PC. You may be able to buy it on the Microsoft Store but this will be for the Xbox version of the game.

I wouldn’t bother. WCL the worst TSW2 release by far. Looks more like Derbyshire than Cornwall. St. Ives looks like a fictional town and too many trees along the route hide the missing scenery.

Thanks for the reply. I definatly purchased the PC version. I also have TSW 2020 purchased through Xbox live and I can purchase addons through the in game dovetal store on that one. Nothing in the store on TSW 2.

There are no add-ons showing in the Microsoft store for TSW2. Only the base game shows.
When you look at add-ons in the MS store, they all say Xbox One and series S/X and not PC.

I suggest you ignore this comment and, if you can buy it, make the decision for yourself. You can refund it if you’re not happy. Yes, the scenery is not photo realistic or pixel perfect (have you looked outside Glasgow Central or St Pancras or Brighton?), but then, what route is? The stations and architecture such as viaducts are very good. it is a good route to drive and I, and by the comments, many others are enjoying it, even allowing for the weaknesses in the class 150. Others, such as nwp1 obviously are not, which is their prerogative.

I have said before it is a “Marmite” route. You either love it or hate it. Make your own decision.

Oh, by the way, i lived in Derbyshire for 25 years and it looks nothing like Derbyshire.

I wouldn’t bother either. 150/2 physics are beyond a joke. It’s £25 of nonsense. Too many horrendous errors to even mention. I’ve given up trying to offer any more HOURS of researched feedback for a fix.

    Guys!
Let's just stick to the OP and helping this buyer out.

I'm not sure how purchasing through a PC XBOX app works. I did buy MSFS2020 through it, so dlc for TSW2 should also work.

That’s why I suggested buying it and seeing for him/herself. The physics are important to you. To others it’s scenery. Neither of these are by any means perfect in this route but it wouldn’t bother many people. I would love to get improvements, particularly in the way the 150 sounds but in the meantime, I am enjoying it anyway. Certainly more than Arosa.

I suspect that, with Rivet’s record, the only improvements we will get will be those that cause the game to crash (and I don’t think there are any of these) or those that make it impossible to complete a service or scenario, such as the door closing problem. We already know that Rivet don’t have a preservation crew so, unless they are working on a patch now, aesthetic issues at least are likely to remain (as with Arosa scenery).

The decision to buy should be based on this i.e. am I happy with what it there now? Because there is no guarantee that any improvements will be made to this route in the future.

That doesn’t mean we shouldn’t be providing constructive criticism and demanding improvements for future DLC as improvement in quality over time is a good thing and something that DTG/Rivet etc should aspire to in order to ensure the future of TSW.

Thanks for your feedback regarding the game.
This is what is showing in the in game store. It should be populated with the addons including West Cornwall. I have raised a ticket with Dovetail to see what they say. Screenshot (69).png

The first time I’ve seen a TSW player say there’s a dlc worse than arosa…

To be honest I have not found any of the DLC for TWS2, that are bad, I enjoy them all. I am not saying they are perfect or do not need some fix or other, however I have not found any issue that would make any of the DLC un-playable, or game breaking

I don’t see the point of ‘driving’ a loco or DMU that takes 2m to get to 60mph in real life that gets to 60mph in just over 1 minute in the game. 5-10 seconds out would be just about acceptable given the variation in real life but EVERYTHING accelerates too quickly in the game compared to real life (except the HST.) The Class 166, 47, 150/2 ( above 30mph it isn’t bad but 0-30mph will give Tesla a run for it’s money) - ,all just ludicrous acceleration

if a DMU has really loud brake rub in real life and it’s silent in the game, again - it’s a deal breaker. There are so so many things in the game that prevent me using half the DLC. The only locos I find acceptable to real life are the HST, class 45, 33, 31 and class 20. The rest have far too many sounds missing or physics are way off.

I've got the PC version and have noticed that the store has not updated to include West Cornwall or the recently added Class 313. Plus with the DLC that do show, there is no product information and can't use the buy now. But being PC, I can use the Steam store

So.....Dovetail have confirmed that they will not be selling any addons for TSW2 for the PC sold on the Xbox live store. They tell me that they are not responsible for any refunds as it is being sold throught a third party and told me to contact Microsoft.
I contacted Microsoft exlpaining this and they rejected my refund request out of hand saying it was out of the refund window.
If you look at the screen shot below it says that the game offers in-app purchases so this is a fine example of misselling. I tried to explain this to both companies but not surprisingly it fell on deaf ears.
I hope this can be a warning to other porential buyers of TSW2 throught the Xbox app for PC.

    Hi Jone,
I would suggest you start a new post for this as it's not related necessarily to the main post.

It sounds like what you want to do is refund your xbox license and buy a PC license for the software?
If this is the case it depends on how much play or time owned you had on the xbox version as to whether Microsoft will refund you. That's a Microsoft matter rather than a DTG one.
With regards to DTG they have no control over what the various stores do. Unfortunately I think you're stuck on this one but others may have more to offer

Thanks for the advice. If you have a look alway to the top, I did create this post with the issue that I cannot buy the West Cornwall addon through the in game store in TSW2 purchaed through the Xbox live app, even though is says in app purchases are available.
It seems as if it was hijacked halfway through though.
DTG should let Microsoft know that they will not be making in app purchases available in the game so Microsoft do not advertise it.
Edit. And you are correct, all I wanted was to refund my Xbox live purchase and repurchase it on Steam so I can have the option to buy the West Cornwall addon.

I quite like Arosa and while Rivet are good with their Station and Locomotives their route creation leaves a lot to be desired. If only they would concentrate on giving the same attachment to detail with the routes.

Sorry Rivet, but I have bought all the routes in TSW and my worst three are all yours. I know WCL and IoW very well, so my vote for the worst route based on likeness is WCL. IoW is the second and Arosa is third. I know all three routes well having holidayed in the IoW and Chur, as well as living in St.Ives. Arosa has some resemblance much more than IoW and WCL.

the issue is with terms and conditions. If you're outside the refund window on XB store then you're basically "stranded"

I wish I was in the Ops position and unable to buy it. Personally I wish I spent £24 on bread and cheese

I don't understand this! So you are stuck with a game that you can't buy add-ons for? That's criminal!

Thats a bit of an oddity. I assumed you would be able to pick up addons on all stores?
