The only bit of feedback I can give at the moment is that the colours look kinda muted and washed out, other than that the scenery is looking really well built

Route is up on steam now, listed as coming soon.

    https://store.steampowered.com/app/...2_Sherman_Hill_Cheyenne__Laramie_Route_AddOn/

Also gives details on what freight cars are coming with this route with 7 of them in total:

Just added that one to the wish list. Also with Thursday's stream being a TBA, could be a preview of this route.

Questions for DTG. Have you found and recorded proper sounds for SD70 Ace? Will we get the same trackage layout as for TS-edition (the third rail, Borie cutoff, accessable Granite and Wycon areas etc)?

I wonder if this and cane creek will have similar desert environments,it clearly looks like it.Which it will be nice to have 2 desert options. We already have to many tree routes.

Probably a wishful thinking, but a release next week would be so sweet, with the 4-day weekend here in the US. Make my thansgiving dreams come true DTG!

Maybe will get a double release day again...Sherman Hill&G6(shunter)....or and here's a wild idea Horseshoe Curve as well.

Get those credit cards warned up,there going to get a potentially big work out.

Also the UP GP38-2 from P.C.would make possible nice addition if there any yard switching operations on the route.

It's interesting that there are no pictures of the SD40-2 in the article nor on the steam page.

    upload_2021-11-15_17-46-20.png
I have to give a thumbs-up, that although we will still have that weird single-well 56ft car, there are at least many colours to the containers mixed in with branded ones, a lovely variety. And it also seems we will get 53ft on 40ft double-stacks.

As some people above, I would also like to express hope the extent of its TS counterpart with third track and Borie is kept here too.

Eastern Wyoming around Cheyenne and Laramie, is mostly " prairie ", which is grassland, scrub and shorter trees. Wyoming doesn't really have desert, though there are semi arid areas in the western part of the state.

Interesting to see the mixed consists of domestic 53ft and international 40ft Containers. Shame DTG couldn't strike a deal with a domestic container group like EMP, Hub Group, or UMAX though.

I was quite excited when I noticed that! An American intermodal train just wouldn’t look quite right with only ONE, Hapag-Lloyd, and Hamburg Süd.

I am really happy about 2 things I wanted, and now are confirmed!:

    > SD70 ACE UP's livery it has 2 different ones:

    - The first ones it have the red reflective stripe at the bottom of the locomotive

    sd70ace - red reflector stripe.pg.jpg
    - Then it was changed to yellow ones:

    1a7fee62d2bfe21b231f4440019bb735--scale-california.jpg

I prefer the first one by far!
This is due to as UP very nice paint scheme - in my opinion - it is mostly yellow, so the lower red one, it combines with the upper one better!.
Contrasting with the rest of yellow.
This is the one on the picture showed!

    What do you think?

    > As I suggested on another thread some months ago, in order to include the containers names which were already available on german freight trains, to be included on US ones too!
This is showed on Steam pictures!

Hopes DTG makes an agreement about a license with a USA container company!
This will be great for this route, Horseshoe Curve, Sand Patch grade, or other USA route with freights trains, coming in the future.

So really happy and exited about both issues!
Look forward for having this route soon.
As triple track, timetables and Scenarios might be very interesting...
    Hope this happens.

As far as the 40ft 5-unit ones are concerned, I dont think the way containers will spawn for the route would work on them, as the 53fts can't be in adjacent wells next to each other (IE if a 53ft container was in the top stack on the 1st well, the 2nd well can't have a 53ft in a top stack due to clearance issues, it would have to be in at least every other spot.)

However, it would of been nice to get a MAXI IV or Thrall styled 53ft 3-unit well car.....

Does anyone know the speed limit on Sherman Hill? Is it fast, or slow like SPG?

Not sure on speed limits, but UP runs their IM's fast, like 60 -70 MPH. Manifests are around 50 MPH.

Oh hey, I just noticed a new feature shown in these screenshots! In the screenshots containing intermodal trains, it appears that intermodals will no longer be fully double stacked, and are instead a mix of doubles and some singles. That's a nice touch!

Does anybody know if we will see the AC4400CW from Cane Creek layered onto this route? If so, are the chances? It would definitely add some variety to the route…

I am pleased this isn't strolling pace. Puts it on my radar. I like to feel that I've travelled somewhere in an hour or two as opposed to 8 miles

58 miles crikey...this puts it up there with LGV ! This one will take some time to transverse end to end especially being a freight route

...found some pictures of this impressive rock formation on the route, very nicely modeled by the track builders! Now we have almost every kind of terrain on North American routes. From wooded mountain ranges around Sand Patch Grade or narrow valleys of Clinchfield, until extensive desert plains with impressive canyons in Cane Creek and densely populated urban regions around Oakville and on the east and west coast.

Well with the higher speed limits (finally a rather fast US freight route) I guess it should be about an hour to get through the route, maybe a bit less.

If it is it needs to be fixed first, this route doesn't need any extra issues beyond whatever it will already come with.

I have mentioned this on 2 post I made before on other threads, but I believe about this issue DTG, must inform on a specific stream for this route, soon. It deserves it!

As to layers... Well I have Munich - Augsburg route, and despite I have lot of German trains and locomotives, only the ICE 3 and BR 423 appears! The default ones.
Which is really strange, as on all the other German routes, most of them were added too.

I have seen videos there with DB 146 / BR 143 + Dostos, but those not appear on that route!

Assuming you are on XBox One or PS4 this is correct, only 9th Gen consoles and PC get layers on HMA for memory reasons.

That video at the end of the Roadmap stream showed a seriously long IM going by with DPUs on the back. The 52 ft. containers on it had colours seriously close to some companies that I recognized. Looking forward to this route.
