Getting new countries for TSW2 is something that players are waiting for. Today I'm suggesting something a little bit different content for TSW2, a route from Latvia. As a post-Soviet country, Latvia has Soviet-style railways and rolling stock. I have a few route suggestions, that could be nice in TSW2 + cab view videos Riga - Aizkraukle (Electrified section of Riga - Krustplis line) Sloka - Riga Riga - Skulte All videos are made by diiselrong. https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCmedZBAGZBakVT-KUONeZtw Rolling stock: Rolling stock of Latvia's railways is mostly from Soviet era. The iconic ER2 EMU is actually a Latvian train, built by Rīgas Vagonbūves Rūpnīca (RVR). ER2 would be the most common train on those suggested routes, that are a part of Riga commuter train network. Interior of unrefurbished ER2. Refurbished ER2. DR1A Due to the lack of electrification on Latvian railways, long-distance services are operated by diesel trains. DR1A would layer at least for Riga - Aizkraukle line, because it's a part of Riga - Krustplis line, which is non-electrified between Aizkraukle and Krustplis. (That part is not included in my suggestion.) DR1A is also built by RVR. The operator of Latvian passenger rail transport is Pasažieru vilciens.
This route in the former Soviet Union now Latvia and part of the European Union is electrified to 3kv DC 1.520m tracks. Train protection system is the standard Soviet ASLN Klub-U unless made part of the European Union Baltic rail project where it's ETCS with specific transition model to use Soviet ASLN Klub-U systems. The only trains to have a specific transition module are DB BR406 Schnellfahrstrecke Köln-Aachen and TGV Duplex LGV Méditerranée
Hello I am developer for TS Classic, my hometown is Jelgava (40km from Latvian Capital) If my developments could give any idea of implementation of Latvia in TSW2, would be nice I already created topic on TS Classic forum: Riga - Jelgava route & ER2-8029 This covers a story, how I recreated 44km long branch together with ER2 EMU hereby are some videos, which show bits of gameplay:
DTG have said that expansion into other countries would need third party developers with local knowledge in those countries to start producing content for TSW2 - get yourself on the third party programme!
