Since the Flight Sim forum has been closed, I'm going to have to ask this here. I bought FSW on disc and redeemed the code for the main game, which worked fine. But the Epic Approaches DLC didn't work, as it said it was already in my library. I can't check at the moment (I will later) but I don't know if it's an error with Steam, or is Epic Approaches included in the FSW base package?
I think your query might best be supported through DTG's support system. https://dovetailgames.freshdesk.com/support/tickets/new Cheers
I know, I just thought somebody will know. I'm going to check in a few minutes anyway, but if it is not in my library I'll send them an email.
I think some DLCs were merged into the base game shortly before it went off sale. I know because I have FSW but never purchased any DLC for it, but my library says I have 4 DLCs added, all mission packs including the epic approaches one.
Funnily enough I was just pondering why the boards don’t have a flight sim section. Yes, FSW went out with a whimper and most of us were pretty pee’d off at paying the money and being stuck with something a long way from finished. Then there was DTG’s involvement with FSX which is still the de facto Steam edition. But they are still DTG products and people still play them. In fact having gone to update the new MSFS after a few months away and being greeted by a staggering 110Gb update, hence why it seems known in some circles as MS Download Simulator, I was sorely tempted to reinstall FSW. So big question for Nat, Sam, Matt or anyone else listening, where is the forum for your flight sim products?
Wasn't FSX:SE brought back under Microsoft? If you look on the steam store page it now says the developer is Microsoft Game Studios, no mention of DTG. I think these days DTG only dishes out key codes for FSX through the DTG store, which is now just titled under FSX:SE add-ons.
Ah, now you mention that, does ring a bell. I suspect MS reacquired everything from DTG before handing off to Asobo for development of the update simulator...
Yep, before MS announced FS2020, they got FSX back. I do agree there should still be the forum area, since FSW support is still DTG's problem, and I believe Microsoft still direct customers to DTG for FSX support. The only reason I bought FSW was because it was a part of simulation gaming history, and I don wonder what would have happened if DTG had stuck at it. It could have been really good, and I reckon its failure partly inspired MSFS2020. The DLC is all still labelled as DTG.
