Anyone wanting to watch current operations on the Hi-Line for scenario ideas can look at a channel on YouTube called Montana Getaway (the channel thumbnail is a BNSF SD70ACe). The overwhelming majority of the videos on the channel are from the Hi-Line and take place within the last year or so.

Stevens is meant to be the better route, but marias has that epic trailer. I voted for Stevens too but I'll happily take marias :)

Marias Pass is also a special place for those of us who came from MSTS. It's where we grew up and learned to drive so to speak:)

Since I re-joined the Train/Rail sim community only 6 years ago after many "dead" years I have always longed for an "updated" i.e. TS20xx version of my favourite MSTS route - Marias Pass, I loved that and have been looking forward to this ever since. One week to go and I believe in Santa Claus once more and I'm only 73.
The route may be old but it is so needed for workshop routes and there is nothing wrong in being old we all want to grow old as the alternative is worse

It's the original, I'd say. The only thing they really need to fix is making the last scenario, Hauling the Harvest Grain, easily available. As it stands, if you convert it to Standard and it works, you may be able to do the first two hours of the scenario, but any other parts are MIA because it's a co-op scenario. I did click the button to make it Standard and the backup of the original is there, so I may take a look and see if it has a final task marked for Essex blocking other activities.

FYI, it's a 115 length train in that scenario, longest you get in the original eight and the second-longest in the entire pack, with an AI in the same scenario topping out at 125. Welcome to the North.

Sorry to be the Doom Sayer in all of this but "I" hope this time, it is fully and properly tested and as bug free as possibly could be. Sadly I will not hold my breath.

Yes the distribution should be properly tested. But I am interested in the original route so that everyone has the same content available.

This is known. And it's a Wednesday, which fits right into the guess about not leaving it for the end of the week and concentrating on the new Chatham/Faversham merged route to Dover and Ramsgate likely out on Friday.

Guess I better work on my holiday scenarios so I can add that note, since I already said it's unknown in the Marias scenarios I posted so far.

The first bit of the scenario runs from Whitefish to Essex, then the game instructs you to switch places with another player. The second player then takes the train up to the Summit and that's where it ends. And that looks like that's it.

Did anyone actually play the relay scenarios back when they were a thing? How did that even work? I never did. The concept was intriguing, but I guess it never took off because relay scenarios were never mentioned again after TS2013.

Why don't you release all the routes at once? I get the unbranded routes like Hi-line but why do Marias and Stevens need to be released at different times?

I theorized this once. If all done at once, we will forget about it in two weeks as shiny new things appear. They are trying to keep the conversation going. In my case, it is more annoying as I need Stevens and already have Maria’s, so...

That's what I thought. I was wondering if I could get someone from DTG to say something else otherwise, since they always act like nothing they do is a marketing strategy.

It is difficult to get a DTG reply. This is not just a DTG thing though, it's a case with many developers, especially the big-name ones used to being insulted by fans who have extreme demands. And while I'm not suggesting DTG is in that category, there are some devs who do a better job communicating with their fans, and this would be a case where communicating would be helpful. Because there's no reason not to unlock Stevens at the same time. None.

Side topic: I'm surprised Tehachapi was even considered out of the 3. Would have been better to go with Cajon.

I don't think Cajon was ever withdrawn from sale?

It was and still is only available for US Customers. And I do not really know why. It is a BNSF route but the rolling stock used is UP only. Except for one F7 in ATSF livery. But Cajon Pass rolling stock resides in the US Loco and Asset pack (Assets\Kuju\RailsimulatorUS) which is available for everyone. Funny.:)

The amazing thing is there are some eight or more loco packs that use it for scenarios. Let me rhyme off what I remember off the top of my head.
    • BNSF SD75 Loco
    • SD70 V2
    • SW1500 Switcher (not the Marias one)
    • GP9 Loco
    • ATSF SD45-2 (DTM)
    • UP SD70ACe of some form (Working the Hump Yard)
    • BNSF Dash 9
    • SD40-2 Snoot Loco (there are other SD40-2 that use Marias, as well as the GP38 and F45)
BTW, that Working the Hump Yard is accessible now if you're lucky to own Cajon, you can buy that SD70. But the others, when they return to everyone, make Cajon a must-get for scenario play. You can even use the fictional US Voyager on a scenario there from a JT package.

Yes the US asset pack has BNSF locos too. I was lucky to get CP from Amazon for 12€.
And the UP SD70ACe was never banned. So I have already been working the hump yard

I think they really didn't want Cajon to win. It's a nice route, but:
    • It is represented as UP / unbranded NS
      • I only know about RBJets having done an extensive series, but his first also uses newer rolling stock
    • Doesn't look like the real thing
    • Doesn't look great, being from 2007 just slightly upgraded
    • Has plenty of track issues
      • Too sharp curves, mostly
      • I also had a random derail highballing with an F7 passenger eastbound
    • Empty QD (due to the crossover you could only really have stationary, or portals)
    • No route-specific rolling stock
      • With the default stock having its tendency to randomly separate
Ultimately, I expect DTG to flip a switch to enable all these available, maybe even during the holiday season, discounts and all. (Although they said 2022. Can be anything.)
Imo this voting and event is more about marketing, getting everyone in the loop, maybe even stream it on the 22nd.

Yeah lol even is the case with pacific surfliner when i was playing a scenario like 4-5 years ago i saw some bnsf branded freight cars in hobart yard and they were literally branded, even tho pacific is available worldwide from the beginning.

Hi Jamie, is the Maria’s Pass that is coming out today the same as the one I purchased 8 years ago or has it been updated? Thanks Fred

Mind if I take that? It's the same one. So would be Stevens and any of the others in the future, just giving us the BNSF trademarks.

5pm GMT I think it's the usual time of release, but as the winter sale also begins at that time maybe we can expect some heavy traffic on Steam as usual on this moment of the year

It will be in three minutes at the start of the Winter Sale.

EDIT: It'll be there in the first 15 minutes of the sale.

EDIT: It'll be up within the hour.

EDIT: I don't have a friggin' clue NEmore.
