I have had an xbox one since 2017 and, while i have enjoyed it i am looking to upgrade to PC, what are some good pre-built PCs able to run ts2022?

I put together a new PC a year ago using an Intel i5 10600K with 16 GB of DDR 4 ram an Asus Z490 Tuff gaming motherboard with Wi-Fi it also has BlueTooth and I'm running Logitech Z407 Bluetooth speakers which really sound great. I didn't upgrade the graphics card though and I'm still running from my previous computer an Asus Nvidia GTX 1060 6 GB card. This system runs TS2022 just fine plus other games like Far Cry 6. All this hardware has all been superseded like the i5 are in the 11 series and I think the 12 series is either out or just about to come out. My motherboard is now 2 generations old. As for the graphics card, you may be able to find some Nvidia 20 series cards around but if not you would have to use one of the Nvidia 30 series of cards. I'm not familiar with AMD cards though.

Alderlake has been out for weeks... and it's GOOOOOD.... I'm glad I held off buying a Ryzen system... It's a hot and hungry CPU though.

One of the advantages of the PC is precisely that of having an open setup. You can very well play TS 2022 on a 600-700 Euro PC (with an i5 and a GTX1070) as you can expect a 4K with 16x anisotropic filtering and all settings at maximum for the best graphics quality. In this case, an i7 with RTX 2080 would not be enough to guarantee you a decent framerate. So you can spend relatively little or relatively much, it depends on what you are looking for.

CPU power is important, not so much GPU as this is a very old game engine.

Nope.. they both are, and in specific ways too. CPU single thread performance is what matters. You can have a Threadripper CPU in there, and TS will just use 2 of your 64 cores.
GPU performance makes a MASSIVE difference... I've no idea why you would even suggest that it doesn't.

I said "not so much" which just means CPU is more important because of the old DirectX 9 TS is based on.

And this is an RTX 2080 Mobile with an i7 9750H (4.60GHz in Turbo mode). FXAA + 3 x 3 SSAA, 16x Anisotropic Filtering and all custom settings to the maximum excluding only the dynamic colouds. Recorded at 1080p. Contrary to what Youtube reports (1080p x 60FPS) the real framerate with this setting is 30FPS (slightly below in large stations such as Bremen and slightly above 30 in more open areas. In any case, I don't get there at 40-50FPS).

Now, if I wanted 50-60FPS, 4K, dynamic clouds and some mods that enhance and weigh down textures (using this uncompromising setting) I would have to get an RTX 3080 and probably a 5.0GHz i9 as well. Again, everything is relatively good. Can you go 4K with an RTX 2080? Of course you can (I think you can also with a GTX 1080), but you have to review all the other settings and lower them considerably.

Well, as my video above yours shows, that's not actually true. While not 4k it is running with higher settings than you, but at 1440p, with RWEnhancer Pro, and ReShade with 9 shaders running, with AP track and weather packs and averaging 30fps. This is on a 11 year old 3960X, and a GTX980 running on PCIe V2.0. You can't compare laptops to desktops I'm afraid.

Why can't you compare them? You just have to consider that the laptop versions have lower performance than their desktop counterpart.
How many fps of difference can there ever be between 2080 desktop and 2080 laptop? 5-10?

I do the tests with all the settings of the graphics card (from the graphics card panel) all set to maximum quality. I also used the anisotropic filter at 16x (from the TS 2022 game panel you can set it to a maximum of 8x).

Also, from what I've read around, several of the (I'll call them improper) mods you use as AP and RWE also improve the game in terms of performance, so, in general, you gain fps instead of losing them. Then ok, even here I think it depends on the specific setting but not having them yet I cannot express myself in detail.

Summarizing what I expressed in the whole thread, with a 500-600 Euro PC you can play TS 2022 very well, but if you had a super PC with an RTX 3080 (and an i9) it would not be wasted money anyway (IMHO) for the simple fact that you can afford to upgrade the game with third party content with high resolution textures everywhere and always maintaining a good framerate. Without having to give up anything from the point of view of graphic settings.

I think back to Skyrim (2011 game) that with very high resolution mods, if played with today's graphics cards, it almost looks like a new product.

I would go for an Intel i5 CPU something like a 12600K which is the latest.

There's more to a PC than it's GPU.

RWEnhancer's impact on performance depends entirely on how you set it.. ReShade has a marked impact on game performance, again depending upon what shaders you plug into it.

I feel no pressing need to upgrade yet, which is fortunate given the entire GPU situation.
