I initially though Paddington seemed very quiet at 8am, but a train has just pulled in and according to the timetable I had left over from when I played on PC that was the next service to leave. Are the timetables the same?
No, the timetables on console have less trains than on PC. Trains can be pretty heavy on performance, so even though console will have largely the same stuff as PC, services will have less/shorter trains for FPS reasons. It’ll stay that way on all route the foreseeable future, but who knows if it’ll change. IIRC, GWE has almost all the same HST and 66 services on both console and PC, but has a LOT less 166 services. Looking at new stuff it seems RT is exactly the same on PC and console, and NEC is barely changed at all.
That's a shame. The timetable for GWE on PC was already sparse so to hear its been trimmed down further for consoles is disappointing.
Well consoles are always going be behind PC in terms of performance. I havent got the game yet but have you tried at the stations halfway of Reading and Paddington? not sure if you see more rail traffic that way
Paddington and Reading are very quiet and have very few trains in the game. Compared to real life where you’d see a train every few minutes, in game it’s more like one every 10-15 minutes. Probably due to the fact that we have no Class 165, 387, 360, 332, 800 and 450/458 so it’s a bit like a ghost town at the moment.
Matt, the senior TSW producer, is very proud of services and there are certainly advantages to them. The downside of services is that they impose a continous background load, both processor and memory, on your system. Because it's possible for each of those services to be taken over by a player each of those services has to be a fully featured one rather than a minimally featured AI service. The result of this is that even reasonably poky PC systems had performance issues although this has improved over time. Both PS4 & Xbox are not as powerful as PCs in general and so have been affected more by this. One of the steps taken to get around this was to reduce the number of services. In time as DTG gain more experience with consoles it's possible, although by no means guaranteed, that it may be possible to reinstate some of those services.
On the pc manuel it says over 300 hundres services but i dont believe that. So we are looking about 100 services a day?
Maybe 300 services altogether, but certainly not 300 whilst playing in service mode. Driving from Paddington to Reading, you’ll probably pass around 10 services on the journey.
Yep. they are the same but in a different order, the schedules change but they are the same stops, same trains and same trays.
Hello Kekanha#4892 When you post we get two blank messages and then we get one with your response. It happens everywhere you post but not sure what or why it happens. Just thought you would like to know.
