I don't know what I was thinking but is there only one Train on Cathcart? Not even if you have other routes say?

Thanks, I'm glad I held off what with the poor lighting as well. I hope they are plans to add another.

No. There's a railtour enabled by Northern Trans-Pennine, and a freight service enabled by East Coastway, however both add a total of 3 services, one of which is technically a 2-parter.

There's literally nothing else appropriate to layer onto the route.

Wow, what a missed opportunity. Is the route busy? I'm guessing, not and Rush Hour not working but don't know for sure.

Apart from the lack of ambient lighting ( this is suburban Glasgow, right? ), it's a well modeled route and there is a fair amount of AI. But Glasgow Central is post apocalyptic and you do get tired of driving just the one train, well done though it is. It is the lighting that spoils it, though. I'd stay away from those dark stations at night, if I lived in that area.

London Faversham with the 465 bundle seems a good deal at the moment, anyone any idea what layers this adds to other routes?
Am torn between this and Hamburg Lübeck, again anyone any idea how this layers with other routes.

Got cane creek, I know its not everyone's cup of tea, but I like the long single track through the arid countryside.
Got Oakville subdivision as well, did not really want it, but though well for £2:50.......

Yep, a route for £2.50, that's a half of beer (or a supermarket pint :)).

Actually the hidden gem so far of my purchases has been the SF Peninsula Corridor, along with the two associated loco DLC's. It's a fun route to drive, far more pleasant than the Boston one. Must have taken an age to make as most of the length of the line is built up. There's not too much in the way of onerous speed limits and there are one or two minor gradients to overcome. But mostly it's a flat out thrash all the while blasting the horn for the countless level crossings.

Such nice horns! And I love the lapped brakes in the F40PH.

AI at London Victoria on London Commuter, along with several services between East Croydon and Redhill, representing SEML diversions.

Is it though? Like I said, there's literally nothing else they could've layered in. The only way they could add more variety is building a completely new EMU from scratch, they're not really going to do that without selling one as a separate DLC.

For what it is, the route is relatively busy, there's plenty of services where you get caught behind other trains. It's a shame they didn't add the inverclyde services, though.

Not for the era set in, anyway. If it had been set back a few years, maybe Class 45's* on the GSW services coming and going, or a 40 on the Stranraer trains, but they would only be a handful at irregular intervals. I suppose you could also have the 101's working the Edinburgh via Shotts service but again that was only hourly or thereabouts.

    * 47s after the 45's were banned from GLC.

Okay, went into the Steam sale with a $100 budget and picked up the following:

Routes: Tees Valley, Clinchfield, RRO, LGV, HMA, Oakville
    Locos: 20, 155, MP15DC, MP36PH-3C, Heavy Freight Pack

Went $2 and change over budget, not including tax, but I can live with that.

Glad to see people are making good use of the sale.
I too have picked up a couple of clunkers which I felt were not worth their initial price.

I do like a good 45, do you know why they were banned?

I believe there were a couple of low speed derailments on the throat caused by the long wheelbase bogies. Presumably not an issue for 40's though!

    Makes sense.

I can just imagine this happening
    Worker: "The Class 45 derailed"
    Head office: " Ban it"
Worker: "What about the Class 40?"
Head office: "The Class 40's are completely different, not anything like the 45's, nope, completely different, never going to derail, not going to happen."
    Worker: "Okay" *Walks away*
    Head Office: "What's a Class 40?"
Manager: "A different one I guess?"

40s were/are still banned from Glasgow Central. Stranraer Boat trains usually 47 or 27 in the 80s with the sleeper from London booked for a 20 to pilot which ran via Kilmarnock and Ayr. GSW route same traction with 25s also getting in on the mix and 26s too as they migrated from Inverness after the 37 takeover.

Thanks for confirming that! I definitely knew about the 45's but logical the same restriction applied to 40's.

One last plunge for me, then. Decided to give Cane Creek a whirl, if only for the nostalgia value of driving the route in Trainmaster 4 - the cab view sim which actually beat MSTS to release by about six months but sadly got blitzed by its subsequent competitor.

Since you already have HRR, the BR 101 - one of the best loco DLCs ever - is a can't miss: comes with its own Journey and scenarios on HRR, and its own layers on Dresden and Hamburg (also there's a mod which lets you sub into existing ICE services on SKA and HMA).

Since you have TVL and WSR, which implies you like cantankerous old BR diesels, the Heavy Freight Pack for NTP is a nice get. There are also the Class 20, 31, 33 and 52 DLCs.

The fun (and traffic) of Peninsula Corridor are definitely enhanced by the MP-15 and Baby Bullet (the latter is worth it just for the Darth Vader's TIE Fighter cockpit). Also, the latter will apparently layer into Oakville when that route's upgrade is released.

I can't see how much you may or may not like German routes, but Ruhr-Sieg Nord remains one of the best, and also enables the superb BR 363.

Ruhr-Sieg Nord! I would recommend grabbing the DB BR 155 and DB BR 363 to go along with it. The former substitutes into almost all the German routes and is very fun to drive, and the latter adds great yard services and small industry runs in addition to being a quality locomotive.
The DB BR 101 is another excellent German loco DLC.

The MP15DC switcher for Peninsula Corridor adds a few services but importantly TheShotte made a CSX version that subs into the SPG yard services which is a blast, and he is currently working on a CN version for Oakville as well.

Clinchfield, Sherman Hill, and Cane Creek are fun if you're into that type of gameplay, but judging from your library I don't think they would appeal to you all that much.

    Cheers

It's actually a SW1500 based on the similar but not identical MP15- and it's finished, except the weathering. Great little engine.

The M3 Still Have so many bugs on it? Is DTG going to fix it? The tutorial work but there are glitch and problem especially when it asks you to remove the key. The Hauptstrecke Rhein-Ruhr still has a bug in the first chapter, i was stopped at the red line and also it say access denied no route available. Please DTG Team Fix this :|:|:|:(:(:(
