    Hi all

Does this add on add any different routes on the SEHS line, or is it just an alternative to the 375 locomotive?

    Thanks

It does not add any more track or geography. It runs in the timetable with the 375. I'm not sure if it outwardly adds new services though.
One thing I did not notice right away is that you can change the train length, and that changes what's available in the timetable. To do this go to where you would normally change a livery (LIRR is the same). There's an evening service to Cannon Street that I love to do, although it obviously doesn't go all the way into Cannon Street in the game.

It also an AI layer on London Commuter to make the Victoria area more busy.

It's my favorite loco add on so far, the sounds are awesome and it's fun to drive

Thanks for the reply and info.

Yeah, I'd also love to take a train into Cannon Street, another of my old commuter haunts... :)

cattivo No problem. Definitely worth a buy if you're a fan of the Southeastern High Speed route. It's on steam sale now which makes it even better

The services that go between Gravesend and Rochester (bar the Javelin services obviously) were originally meant for the 465 pack (and were possibly going to be driven by the 465s only) but after criticism of the lack of services, they were added to the game by default. This also required a minor reworking of the 375 to add the destination, which is way Charing Cross and Cannon Street aren't with the other London termini in the TMS display.

In real life the 375 doesn't actually run via Gravesend, but as Doomotron says, when DTG said they weren't going to put the Thameslink services to Rainham in the game for everyone there were "words had" by the community so we ended up with the sucky position that 375s run spurious services that they have never run in the real world.
Of course, IRL the 465s no longer run past Gravesend now anyway, with those services operated by Thameslink class 700s, but it's very unlikely that train will be in game for years to come unless GBR grants a license for it which the current licensees will not

It's very much a have your cake and eat it thing. I wonder if people making that complaint considered those services would be coming with the 465? (Perhaps DTG could've been more upfront and said those services are coming with the 465?)

Several people at the time said "don't do it, put a train that runs that route in place", but DTG did what they did...

And of course, a few people would have stated the unfairness of needing to pay more for timetable runs etc etc

ie you can't please most people on this forum any of the time it seems

The 465 is nice, I'm doing a Journey Mode run on SEHS in between checking the board.

My only feedback would be, the acceleration seems a bit excessive - if you ram it into Notch 4 it takes off like a bat out of hell.

Those with more particular model knowledge can correct me, but given that the 465 tops out at 75 mph it may be geared for more aggressive acceleration (as most hot-rodders know, you choose your rear-end ratio as a tradeoff between acceleration and top speed)

Yes, I believe they were specifically built for commuter routes out of Cannon Street/Charing Cross/Victoria(SE) to replace the 415s (2-car variant the 466 was to replace the 416s). South Western and South Central got the earlier Class 455s, as well as 456s to replace the 416.

The one in the game was refurbished in the early 2000s to run longer distance services (which is why it has first class).

Thanks for all the replies... :)

Well, for $12 it seemed silly not to get it, and as has been stated, it's fun (and seemingly pretty easy) to drive. I've definitely been enjoying a bunch of British DLC's that I've picked up in the sale, SEHS, London Commuter and the south coast Brighton to Seaford line - I went to school in Seaford, probably still had steam engines then! :D

Don't really know how this game is developed, but I'll live in hope that one day they add in services into Charing Cross and Cannon Street, both stations I commuted into for many years. Would be so much fun taking a train from Hastings into London, through my old home town... :)

FWIW I’m from across the pond (so there’s no regional bias here) and the 465 is my favorite commuter loco in the game. The sounds are just awesome and the acceleration makes it a joy to drive.
Sounds like you’ve already picked up but I just wanted to throw my 2 cents in, just to encourage you to use it and enjoy it. Take it out in those longer services, you won’t regret. Oh yea, and turn the volume up!

It also seems they have AC traction motors, which would contribute to peppy acceleration.
