So over Christmas I decided to nab the CN Oakville Sub on steam for like $3. I played it for a little bit completing all the missions and doing some services and I enjoyed the route quite a bit. Yet some how it felt incomplete. Of course this route is missing most notably the GO Transit trains. I won't really be talking about it since the devs already (kind of) addressed this. Instead I'm here to present a DLC for Oakville with two locos. I think this route lacks of DLC for this route as well as mainline thru freights on the line. So I want to present a pack of locos, one that is more for switching/local work, and one that is more for mainline freight. Locomotive #1: Switching/Local engine. Possible options include: #1: GMD1 #2: MLW M420 #3: GP40-2LW Locomotive #2: Road Power Possible options include: #1: C40-8M #2: SD40-2W #3: Dash 9-44CWL For most of these options, I tried to go with something a little more unique than just the standard SD40-2 or ES44 because I personally think that the Canadian wide cabs were pretty interesting and unique to CN. Some of this banks on the hope of what the preservation crew will add. I'm hoping they will add longer freights as running just these small 20 cars freights seems a little underwhelming. Also I have realized that many of these engines are on the older side but who cares. I think they're cooler than a GEVO that looks like any other GEVO on any other railroad.
When I saw this thread I though: ‘oh no not another disgruntled Toronto resident demanding GO…’ But this is a very nice proposal, completely agree with your comments.
Excellent idea not someone who's raging at DTG. Speaking of these locomotives they're also seen in the US under Norfolk Southern CSX UP & BNSF meaning Oakville Subdivision new dlc locomotives serve as base for US Versions
haha got the same feeling. Maybe we should have shown the user this as to how you make a suggestion as it's an ideal one you have included detail about the locos themselves and some suggestions regarding them
I personally feel like there needs to be another route like this for the US. And I believe go transit is added along with the baby bullet add on.
Adam's team is adding it, although it will remain in Caltrain livery due to a lack of a license. What else could they be referring to...
