Train Sim World 2 - Tilting Tharandter Rampe

Wow, releasing next week! I was not expecting this

 

Can't find it on steam, yet. But nice little detail to include the V60 again! I am very excited for the route. Though i have questions for the stream:

- Can you demonstrate night lighting? Will it be on the same level as DRA?
- Can you adress the fact that since TSW 2, we didn't get any new freight waggon (except the V60 DLC) with any new route. Why is this the case? It would be nice to have more variety with freight.
- Can you demonstrate what new functions are inclusded with the 185? It sounds like it's a bit different than the MRCE 185.

 

But will it be riddled with issues?

 

This route looks absolutely marvelous, can’t wait for the preview. Haven’t been this excited for a new release since Cathcart Circle more than half a year ago!

 

For variety, I was wondering if we could get the 363 in Orient red livery, seeing as many of will already had the blue. This is the pinkish red used by DB from the mid-80s to the mid-90s and is distinct from the current traffic red.



As you can see, the design is essentially the same as the blue one.

143s and 112s were also seen in this livery if you ever wanted to provide some livery packs.

Has it been discussed which routes (if any) will add layers to this route, and what they would be?

 

Second DeStijl, and add to his questions which DLC locos have layers (the 101 is mentioned in the article). Layers of course means having their own timetabled services not merely being available as subs.

I suppose it's a forlorn hope that the 155 gets its own heavy-freight layer?

My assumption would be:

* anything you can see on Dresden - Riesa as AI at Dresden (and maybe Chemnitz, but not the IC/ICE)
* any other mainline freight loco you have as an option to sub in for the 186
* 112/146/442 as an option on some regional/S-Bahn services

 

How many services are there?
Will the DMU add Extra (AI only) services to Riesa Dresden seeing as it used on the route?

Got that, but I'm not talking about substitutions.

 

What's the red covering over the coupler?
Is it seen on the in game train?
If so does it get removed or returned depending on weather you have something coupled to it or not?
I haven't seen this type of covering on any other in game dmu/emu before.

 

Bear in mind this route is set ca 10 years ago, VVO Talent 2s weren't a thing back then, so not everything from DRA should return.

 

That's mentioned (and illustrated) in the 612 article linked in the OP. Those covers are placed over the exposed couplers in winter to keep snow out of them; if the article is correct then they will appear in winter and not be there in warmer weather.

 

Possibly. That’s why I’ll wait it out. I mean there are still so many issues with this game.

 

Its a couple cover, its used when its very cold or when it snows to cover the coupler like the name says. Its the first time its represented in te game, hope we'll see it more since lot of D/EMU's use it

Only 10 services for the 612? What a disappointment. I don’t understand why only the IRE use the 612 ingame, they used to run the RE3 as well, but I guess those will be covered by the 143, that’s disappointing

Just a recap on the AI layers and Substitutions for those who prefer this in text format (Gen 9 and PC Only):

Dresden AI Layer (If locos and home routes owned)

S3 (BR442)
IC (BR101)
EC (BR101, BR182)
ICE (BR403)

Substitutions

* BR143/Dosto S3 formations have a 10% chance of spawning as a BR442 (If BRD Owned)
* Electric freight locos setup to spawn as any other German Electric freight loco which exists in TSW2 and owned (ie BR146.2, BR185.2, BR185.5, BR112, BR155 & BR187)
* Shunters set up to sub in all German shunters if home route and loco owned (ie BR363, BR204 & G6)
* AI S1 services run the BR143 by default and a chance of spawning in the BR182 (if owned)

 

Now you just need a US route that has Passenger and Freight as well as being scenic. There are plenty to choose from, but has never been done even after being requested for a while on the suggestions page.

 

Like London to Brighton still is you cannot even drive electrostar on that little branch line to London Victoria Without it crashing saying out of memory on Xbox series s/x

 

Matt said in the stream that the real 612 has ten services. The timetable he showed has what looks to be a complete workday for it, with eight hour-long back and forth drives, plus taking it out early and putting it away late.

 

Looking forward to it but have now exceeded DLC limit on PS5. Wondering if that fix is coming, especially with more DLCs being released?

 

It may have 10 IRE services on the route, but it also ran RE3’s.

Also Joe has confirmed there to be another 12 services that were not present tonight, however could not tell us if or when they will be in game.

 

Im highly disappointed that the main draw of this dlc is the new tilting 612 and there's only 10 playable services for it its such a cool train but trains we been using in other German routes have more services here than the newer train I hate being negative but this is so disappointing

 

Does this mean that the issue with the BR182 not opening Dosto doors is now fixed? It would be nice to see it return to BRD.

Does the reverse work Tharanter Rampe DB BR143 appearing in SKA HRR as RE1 while HRR RE1 RE6 RE2. DRA version also spawns in SKA HRR if owned

 

I believe SKA and HRR use the 143 from RSN...usually the substitions are forward not backward.

 

The IRE services might be accurate, but they were also used on the RE3 services. I am not sure what weird timeframe the route is set in, since Chemnitz is obviously set in the present day, while the timetable seems to have chosen unfortunately the transition period from Diesel to electric traction, which results in few 612 services. A year earlier would have gotten us an hourly 612 in each direction for sure, so there should be maybe around 30ish services running up and down the line. The transition happened in 2013 though, the electrification was only finished in 2012.

 

In fact there are 22 612 services. The dev build Matt was using only had 10 of them

 

No Meißen branch OLE, which is my only complaint really, The BR 612 looks and sounds amazing, finally a new horn, Not that default car horn. also I noticed many run down small stations along the route that were in operations. I know some of DB's stations can look a bit neglected but some of those stations look like a regional train station in France.

 

Can we stop having Br 112 do freight? It was wrong in HBL, it has been wrong ever since...

 

A little disappointed, not a day one purchase for me, if at all.

Not enough traffic for me. I get that the route is realistic, looked like it performs well, new trains, I’m lucky enough to have a PS5 and the DLC limit doesn’t bother me, I install what I’m using at the time. I guess I enjoy the hustle and bustle of BML/London commuter and the AI traffic of this. Lots of positives on this route but being a German route, it’s more comparable to Hamburg Lubeck than Riesa Dresden. A lot of people will probably enjoy, just not for me.

 

Fair point, if the hustle and bustle interests you this might indeed not be the route for you, and to keep enjoying the game it's important to only get the routes that actually interest you. Let's hope some of this years other DLC's are more to your taste .

 

I really hope so, I don’t think steam is going to excite me too much, nor do the American routes and nothing else currently on roadmap.

 

How is it comparable to Hamburg - Lübeck? That route is pancake flat, barely has any turns, and packed with commuters. I think this new route is closer to Main Spessart in terms of both routes being rural rollercoaster rides of banked turns and sharing the trait of steep inclines worthy of the ramp designation.
