Worth a separate thread I think, as the subject is drowned out in the Road Map thread noise... Anyhow to recap, the much awaited and anticipated DB BR232 Ludmilla seems to have dropped off the road map, leaving a great many of us somewhat anxious as to its fate. So simple straightforward question to DTG or Maik if he can say: What is the status of this project? Is it going forward or has it been canned? Not looking for a likely rlease date but just straight confirmation with an explanation if the project has been dropped. NB: Posted this in PC Discussion but the question equally relevant to our friends on Xbox and PS.
Yes I would like to know too as I was very much looking forward to it. Maybe it will appear again on the next roadmap as yesterdays seems to be a transitional one.
Yeah, having seen some of the WIP screenshots I don't think it's likely to have been dropped by TSG. There are a few reasons as to why it might have dissapeared from the roadmap. The first is just that in reshaping the roadmap it was accidentaly overlooked. The other is that DTG might only want to publish the next upcoming DLC by any one 3rd party studio, and not the ones after that, meaning that the 232 should reappear as soon as the 420 is released. Or perhaps DTG just thinks that the 232 is too far away to be on the roadmap for now. Of course there's still the possibility it was dropped, but I don't think that's very likely.
JD just responded in the roadmap thread. Still seems to be live, but a long way off. Shame as we need a German main line diesel to thrash. The shunters are okay but not quite in the same league as the big stuff.
Shouldn't anything that dropped from the roadmap have a short explanation to why it has been dropped? That gives me hope it's just a small mistake. DTG Natster Maik Goltz any information you could provide us to why the BR232 has been dropped off the latest roadmap?
So basically the roadmap is becoming more and more useless: it only shows products which are going to be released in a few weeks time.
Actually coming back to what Nat said above, showing it as "removed" would make the situation even worse at this point. Perhaps DTG and their associates should adopt a policy of keeping quiet about any WIP until essentially in the bag and ready to go in a week or two. Otherwise you are just getting peoples' hopes up and pulling the rug out from under - we all know what happened with Flight Sim World, lots of promises and ultimately canned without getting much beyond early access. (But not before they took - and kept - our money).
It's a bit sad to see it's still a long wait away. But glad to see it's not dropped! I just really hope it remains a locomotive for Ruhr-Sieg-Nord.
And hopefully several layers and substitutions on other routes. Although it'd be fun driving this mighty diesel on a hilly route like RSN.
That would make the roadmap useless, but it might be too late. It has been steadily moving towards that, a simple list of the things coming soon-ish. No info about what is being worked on, about the direction the game is taking, no insights into the work behind the scenes, etc. Basically it's not a roadmap anymore. Just a list of what we'll get, and it'll come too late to fix anything before release. The buggy mess must go on, I guess...
I don't see what has changed. Maik will get around to working on the 232 when he's finished the 420. Same as it ever was. Why all the angst?
It‘s probably the If it‘s not on the roadmap … line backfiring. Because of that line, people jump to the conclusion that the removal of the Ludmilla means it‘s not coming anymore.
I actually have thought about whether there's a chance the Ludmilla could appear for the Dresden-Chemnitz route instead of Ruhr Sieg Nord as originally announced. RSN already has two loco DLC (155 and 363) and Skyhook's 187 was originally announced for another German route as well, IIRC. But as long as it substitutes for other German freight locos, it doesn't really matter which route it would be released for, IMO.
Well it only changes which route it actually improves with a real extra layer. I believe RSN could use it for the non-electrified sidings at the power plant, which currently have no traffic?
True, it's a pity the Elverlignsen plant branch has been ignored for so long and I was disappointed the 363 didn't use it either. Would have made a good scenario at least.
