https://railworksamerica.com/index....ime-switching-route&catid=20:route-collection The developer withdrew it from steam and released it for free under a different name. If you have a bit of knowledge you can move (NOT copy!) the workshop scenarios to the scenario folder of this version and they might work. Be sure to also download the provided patch 0.2.1.
I installed G-TraX Maine Maritime Switching Route and tried to run the scenario, but it says "Can't load rail vehicle-GXLP_Boxcar50mod, GXLP_Gon50". The scenario is [AGS 17 Inspection].
I see. This is from ScenarioProperties.xml, the assets to load. <RequiredSet> <iBlueprintLibrary-cBlueprintSetID d:id="97746454"> <Provider d:type="cDeltaString">G-TraX</Provider> <Product d:type="cDeltaString">PortlandTerminal</Product> </iBlueprintLibrary-cBlueprintSetID> <iBlueprintLibrary-cBlueprintSetID d:id="97746456"> <Provider d:type="cDeltaString">Kuju</Provider> <Product d:type="cDeltaString">RailSimulatorUS</Product> </iBlueprintLibrary-cBlueprintSetID> <iBlueprintLibrary-cBlueprintSetID d:id="97746458"> <Provider d:type="cDeltaString">RSC</Provider> <Product d:type="cDeltaString">DonnerPass</Product> </iBlueprintLibrary-cBlueprintSetID> </RequiredSet> As the product's name is now MaineMaritime, renaming the Assets folder won't help as the name is present in each blueprint. I will try to edit the scenario for you, unpacking scenario.bin and make a search and replace substituting every occurrance of "PortlandTerminal" with "MaineMaritime". I'll let you know. BTW there is lots of rolling stock from G-Trax available for free on RWA.
Success. I cloned it (to get new GUID) and made it use the MaineMaritime assets now. Easy job, just using serz.exe and Notepad++. It works for me. Just drop the scenario folder into Railworks\Content\Routes\00000032-.....\Scenarios\ (Donner Pass). Scenario's name is "Copy of Inspection". Cheers.
This may be the SD40-2 which was replaced by the GP40-2 on the free version. You will need to swap the assets using a third-party tool. Maybe I can do this for the included set of scenarios if there is a free SD40-2 reskin at RWA...that way the DTG one is replaced.
It works, Cyclone. Just the product name was changed hence the scenario couldn't find the cars. And all SD40's used are Kuju's and DonnerPasses'. Do you read what I'm posting?
I don't have detailed knowledge, so I give up. Even beginners Please let me know if there is a way to understand it.
Sorry about that. You can download my fixed scenario (post #5) if you put the folder that's inside the zip into the place I described. Or contact the author AGS and ask him to update it. In easy words: The name of the DLC has changed. The scenarios looks it up under the original name, cannot find the cars and gives you the error message. I changed the scenario to use the new path. Don't worry about why this happened or what tech stuff I wrote.
There is no folder for 1d0f69ce-543f-44af-b9d1-9a00287e812b. The folder for this scenario is 5e5204ac-6410-439e-b36d-ad4166f7d2a2.
1d... is the folder of my fixed scenario. The original is not touched. Step by step: 1. Open the zip you downloaded. Right click on the 1d... folder and select "Copy". 2. Open <your installation path>\Railworks\Content\Routes\00000032-0000-0000-0000-000000000000\Scenarios 3. Right click on a free spot and select "Paste" to insert the new scenario in the Scenarios folder. 4. Start TS, go to Standard -> Donner Pass Southern Pacific -> Copy of Inspection -> Play It's a nice scenario. Well populated yard and some zigzagging due to the layout is required. I had fun playing that one.
Follow step # 11 to complete the process of copying and pasting. I ran it after that, but I get the same error as # 3.
Are you sure you played "Copy of Inspection"? and not "Inspection"? I double checked, these cars are part of the MaineMaritime download and you should have them if you installed the route correctly.
torf seems to have provided fixes for the scenarios, and I have half a mind to look through some of the Workshop scenarios to edit them as well now that he has identified the stock reference issue in Workshop scenarios. May have to make a project out of this. agsieg for instance has several scenarios for the route, or using its stock.
As mentioned, you have to play Copy of Inspection - under C alphabetically - it should be further up the list.
Ok I see what's going on. The scenario is for some reason not showing up in the database? (Happens from time to time). It is called "Copy of Inspection". So if it is NOT in the list (can't scroll up in your screenshot): Close TS. Navigate to Railworks/Content/ Delete or rename SDBCache.bin. (That's the compiled list of scenarios, will be rebuilt at start.) Start TS again.
I don't understand this (but might have a clue). Try this version (renamed and added MD5 checksums). I have no issues. Scenario appears as "[tm] [AGS-17] Inspection" Just overwrite the old 1d.. folder. This has to work. Let me know.
Yes. Isn't that your kinda thing Cyclone, fixing scenarios? Maybe you can contact agsieg and offer help to update his old scenarios using retired assets. Same procedure applies to Bessemer & Lake Erie, now available as Pennsylvania Steam for free. (Recommended) I'm too lazy uploading workshop stuff. And then you are only allowed to use official assets there I think (which is ok as I don't like hunting for 3rd party assets too), which MaineMaritime is not. So it might not be possible at all on the workshop. Edit: There is a way which requires some work to make the scenarios work again without changing them. As follows: Use SerzMaster to uncompile all assets in MaineMaritime. Unfortunately you have to rename GeoPcDx, proxybin by adding ".bin" to the filename (and later removing, use .bat scripts for that). Use a Mass Search and Replace tool on the asset folder to replace "MaineMaritime" strings with "PortlandTerminal" in each asset. Use Serzmaster again to recompile the bins. Change the Asset folder name to PortlandTerminal. Repeat the whole procedure for the route files. Use at own risk and for private usage only. Don't upload or use to steal assets from someone else which is copyright violation!
And thanks to you WINGLET747, I just discovered I have the route folder for original Portland Terminal containing only a scenario folder with four scenarios that came with DTM's GE 44 tonner. Will convert them the same way as I just converted HIS' Maine Central Southbound [GWD-047].
In the past, I asked about posting alternate versions of scenarios using BNSF assets and he seemed OK with that, but this may no longer be necessary provided the locos ever start showing up in the store. I mean, why have we not already progressed to Stevens and Cajon, and the old SD40-2 models and the Pacific Surfliner and Aurora scenario packs? Or the SD75I for the CN reskin and the SD45-2 from DTM, in ATSF livery? It's one thing to get the BNSF license back, but right now they are still holding back a lot of content from us and it would be nice to be able to get it readily available again. As for fixing the Portland Terminal links, using Maine Maritime's would not make it eligible for the Workshop. I might be able to get away with posting a pack on RWA. However, I would need to reference the original files, and he might be willing to link to my copies in that case.
The story changes, but in another scenario [Driver "Service3" at Lat 92.09686 -Unknow error] <-What do you mean?
If you do not provide the scenario author/name nobody can help. Fixing the first scenario was easy, because it was just using Portland Terminal's assets but running on Donner Pass. Fixing a scenario ON Portland Terminal to work on Maine Maritime is a different kind. Sometimes easy, sometimes difficult especially with markers being not recognized. Requires some editing then. And as much as I like to help, I cannot be converting someone else's scenarios all the time. Best to contact the respective authors mate.
I find it odd that some scenario markers may have ceased to exist. You'd think those would have been maintained.
Which ones have ceased to exist? What I'm talking about is I just converted HIS' GWD047. The scenario uses 3 custom destination markers (standard Kuju), but one wouldn't work with MaineMaritime. This can happen if the internal structure of the route has changed, it might not even be visible. In this case it was the "NEPW drop point" destination, which made the game crash when changing to map view in the editor. I removed it from ScenarioProperties and ScenarioNetworkProperties with Notepad, then inserted it myself (Matt Peddlesden played it on YT, so I had the location of that marker). Got it working then.
I was at a loss because the thread was different. This scenario is not related to Donner pass. In the trainman4 scenario, it's Yard Work Monroe Pt.1. Driver "Service3" at Lat 32.51238 Long -92.09686 - Unknow error - Driver "Service3" at Lat 32.51238 Long -92.09686 - Missing Marker --Monroe Portal Driver "Service3" at Lat 32.51123 Long -92.09779 - Unknow error - Driver "Service3" at Lat 32.51123 Long -92.09779 - Missing Marker --Monroe Portal Driver "Service3" at Lat 32.51029 Long -92.09855 - Unknow error - Driver "Service3" at Lat 32.51029 Long -92.09855 - Missing Marker --Monroe Portal
As I said it is best to contact the scenario author on his workshop page. I just did this on the scenario's comment page. The route has no marker named "Monroe Portal". I find only "Monroe North Portal", and after changing the destinations for those three services it crashes with derailment. If you send them to Georgetown Portal it works and they pass you while you're at the yard. Maybe there was an update to the route that changed the marker's name? I don't know, up to trainman4 to do something about that or not.
trainman4 is now fixing that scenario, he is outraged that someone stole the portal. So there has been an update to the route which removed or renamed the destination portal. See what you meant, Cyclone
I may have misread, I thought it was stated that scenario markers were changed in Maine Maritime. As I said, I would have thought that weird. So if they are in fact identical, that makes more sense.
Nope, just a custom defined one that wouldn't appear on Maine Maritime and gave me the OOM error. Everything working fine now
I see, I see. Well, guess trainman will have to use the default ones in his Workshop creations on that route now.
That was probably his problem. He used a Livonia default Portal which has apparently been removed or renamed in an update (I don't know really). Because the scenario worked at the time he released it.
