Dovetail really needs to improve in the Headlights on Locomotives seeing only 5 feet from the front of the Locomotive in Total Pitch Black Night is Horrible doing Timetable Runs on Sherman Hill you can barely even see another train near you. Screenshots from my Playthrough driving the SD70ACe.
It won't yet no. They tend to release a new feature/improvement per route that drip feeds into the new ones. Adam's preservation team then normally start building them into preservation crew updates so I wouldn't expect a quick introduction to older routes unfortunately
Using r.LightMaxDrawDistanceScale=10 (default is 1) should give you a few more distance. But don´t expect 1mile more... Cheers
This applies to all spotlights. Also the streetlamps and platform or building lamps will be increased a bit. Cheers
Well, from the Dresden-Chemnitz stream it seems that the night lighting and headlights have noticeably improved from Dresden- Riesa and that is one of the keys to my buying decision which I have yet to make. But when asked the surprisingly direct question whether or not this would be " the new standard going forward ", the answer was rather muddy. I take it that: 1. Each new route will have a standalone lighting application, which we will be unable to predict until the release stream. Might be good or bad, we just won't know. 2. There will not be any retrospective improvements on routes like Clinchfield, Dresden, Sherman Hill and others with poor lighting/ headlights. So we're still at tabula-rasa, right?
It seems that headlights are a loco-by-loco thing, not a core or route upgrade. The 612 has great headlights because Maik made it with great headlights- the 185 and 363 are same as they ever were.
But what is not solved is that you can not see the locomotive in the distance. You should be able to see a locomotive at night with headlight on for several kilometers. But I just se it from 200-400 meters maybe. But the headlight is now pretty good (as engineer in loco) in most engines in this route Dresden-Chemnitz
This problem also affects Hauptstrecke Rhein-Ruhr and Schnellfahrstrecke Köln-Aachen even when the high beams are turned on you can't even see those
currently im testing these commands r.LightFunctionQuality=1 r.LightShaftQuality=1 r.ParticleLightQuality=2 or 0 / 1 r.TranslucencyLightingVolumeDim=24 or /32 /48 /64 =this makes the sky really brighter r.TranslucencyVolumeBlur=1 or 0
currently i see no possibility to brighter the headligghts equal which command i use. on gcc i had a bright night but on gwe is still the same and it only affect the sky i only tested at night atm
You are also not alone in that situation because the same issue also occurs on Schnellfahrstrecke Köln-Aachen and Hauptstrecke rhein ruhr
i have to say that all my commands that i posted before are doing nothing the brighter sky was from a command in my .ini .... r.SkylightIntensityMultiplier=0.5 which made that ...none of the below commands do anything in game unfortunately r.LightFunctionQuality=1 r.LightShaftQuality=1 r.ParticleLightQuality=2 or 0 / 1 r.TranslucencyLightingVolumeDim=24 or /32 /48 /64 =this makes the sky really brighter r.TranslucencyVolumeBlur=1 or 0
