https://twitter.com/RivetGames/status/1484581824479248384?t=BayTuRHbJ72k25AHvJM65g&s=19 I know they did this EMU also for TS, but could this be for TSW ? It would fit a route based in [Edit: Luzern], which a poster Can be spotted in the 150/2.
Rivet often shares images and footage of products already released, including TSW product. I wouldn't take it as a hint for an upcoming product.
I think there would be more hints before posting a pic of a complete modell. But who knows it would be awesome.
But normally, they do post ingame screens of TS content, so one can see where it's coming from. This time it's not the case. That's what made me think it's not unlikely they develop the FLIRT for a new route. After all, if Rivet continues the cycle to build an english, then swiss, then english, then swiss etc. route, of course this would fit very well into the cycle.
I also think this is just a TS model, but who knows. But I doubt they would "announce" a new route like this.
The poster showed Luzern, not Zurich. And in one of their streams, we could spot that they worked on Luzern-Sursee.
Luzern - Sursee would be quite short, it's less than 30 km. But the area around Luzern looks interesting to be sure.
Rivet already know what we think. Frankly all the complaints have had little effect. They will do as they please, regardless.
Does every single thread about rivet has to be a dump for people who are just here to criticise? I mean, there is nothing wrong with constructive criticism. But open your own thread for this. Thanks.
I totally agree with this. There's more than enough thread about rivet has to debug things. We all know yeah.. Does no need to repeat the obvious. This thread is about something diff. I would be more than happy with a flirt. Especially that rivet is good in locomotives.
Given that Rivet dont have anything announced in planning I certainly hope that they are working on something, its either that or theyve decided to take a break from TSW which I really hope isnt the case.
I am pretty sure they do work on something. Their last route/loco is now out for a good amount of time. I think we could see an announcement in one of the next 2-3 roadmaps.
Another route where these can run is Geneva Lausanne 60 km and has a big Marshalling Yard Lausanne Denges.
For someone who literally has "Stay away from Rivet Games" as signature you're always pretty vocal when it comes to threads regarding Rivet. I'm not here to defend them, but if you want to talk about bugfixes i kindly suggest you to create your own thread concerning bug fixes. This thread is certainly not about bug fixes.
Exactly, I'm vocal so less people fall for the shiny looks Rivet's TS products, like the aforementioned RABe 523, are very good. I just cannot understand how can there be such a big difference in quality when things come to TSW.
Well yeah I totally agree with you! Was the RABe 523 very good tho? I think it also had not the best physics
When you compare some of the older DTG DLC such as Munich to Rivet's first endevours theres really not much difference in terms of quality with Rivet IMO (if you include some of the preserved collection - Im looking at you TGV, Oakville & RT, then argueably both Arosa & WCL are actually higer quality. The important thing is with every release quality is improving and the more we support them the more resources they can use improving further.
In terms of scenery? Maybe, but Rivet's locos are all broken. Starting from the 204, up to the 150 all have glaring issues in the transmission, with it being either wrong or bugged. No improvement here. On the other hand, Munich is very good. RT was also good in my opinion, or at least way better than Arosa in it's original state. However, for me scenery isn't that important. The most important aspect in a train simulation is the train, and Rivet has consistently disappointed me. Still, Rivet's biggest problem is the attitude. THink about the brake issue on Arosa for example.
Didn't say it was perfect. Broken PZB was a problem, but at least the train drives. On Arosa the train used to derail for no reason* and the brakes were useless. *the reason? Broken buffer physics. This however was stated by our very own Matt. Rivet's position was that it was all correct. Moreover, when they finally released a fix for that, they claimed it was a simplification of the physics. They are not willing to admit they make mistakes, that makes bugfixes even less likely. Plus, with people buying their stuff anyway, they have no incentive whatsoever to get better, as demonstrated by the transmission issues which have been with us from the very start. When they change something, it feels kinda spiteful: not enough trees on Arosa? Here you go, welcome to the Cornwall Forest! DTG is no saint, clearly, but Rivet is much worse in my humble opinion.
I have a strong suspicion that whatever EMU is included it will accelerate like a Smart car with Ferrari engines...
I would guess it will be the FLIRT and maybe a Re420 ( but that’s unlikely because it is a loco Rivet hasn’t done yet)
In my watching Swiss cab ride videos from the poster Railway Emotions, I have ridden in the Thurbo many times and it is a nice local unit. I believe its top speed is around 115 - 120 Km/h. With the electronics in a separate compartment mid train it is very quiet in the cab.
I suppose the FLIRT is very likely and not really suprising, though personally I really dislike the looks of it.
Not so hard to understand. TSW's train physics are MUCH more complex than TS1's. TS uses black-box CLUTs: basically, arcade-game physics. Much, much easier to design for.
