For some of my lettering I've either constructed letters from scratch or modified existing ones. Most visible on my Freightliner writing.
Hehe, thanks... But as always it could be better. LD is really good tool, just practice, practice, practice. When i start my jurney with LD, i was like kid in the fog ... lost I didnt know what to do and how, than after some hours it starts to be more clear and useful. And ohhh on the yesterday stream i was 'wydoje_cie', and as i remember you type to me that in one hour you couldn't do even /Festival.../ sign. Believe me if solicitr can make rust, and such details as old paint with streaks... (that is impressive xD) you are able to do many things. 3000 leyers they propably modified LD tool to be able to do that. But as you see they need that much "space" for leyers when from under their brushes such beauties come out. Peace and Best Regards
Sorry for the quick update already but I've just re-submitted all six Sherman Hill autoracks. I've added a little more weathering to them, Dulled down the KC&S logo on the KC&S yellow autorack and also adjusted the yellow paintwork on the KC&S, CN and TTX autoracks. They're all around the 700 layers mark give or take.
This BR182 / ES 64 U2 009 locomotive in FN Cargo livery was spotted at the Lubeck freight yard earlier today.
Very much in the WIP stage currently. I did london north western railway, now how about london midland?
Has the preserved collection livery thing happened? I haven't been looking at the forums for a long time.
I had a long day at work today, and hence, I wasn’t able to spend as much time on TSW2 as I would have wanted to. Nevertheless, I made good progress and I’m pretty confident that this BR 185 class engine 185 003-4 in HVLE livery will be put into use on one of the German routes tomorrow. Can’t wait! I hope everone’s doing great. Btw. When I was watching the latest Festival of Rail video last night, I discovered that by doing the mastery challenges, it is possible to unlock additional signs and lettering, which can be used on the Livery Editor. Great news!
I dont think anything else has came yet... i think the most recent thing to be done was the heavy freight pack, but that was months ago
There's also a mod which unlocks them, without doing the challenges or even owning the routes they're associated with.
I assume this mod is for PC only, as this type of mods are generally not allowed on consoles (due to strict limitations set by the platform managers / Sony & Microsoft). I’m on PS4. Do let me know please, if this mod can also be used on consoles.
Ok, I've been busy since last time (that's an understatement): (I'll also note what will/won't go on Creators Club.) GMPTE/RR Class 150 (WIP) Not Planned for Uploaded (I may put up a Debranded version, I'll see). Class 387: Class 172 WMR Livery To be uploaded:
Honestly we should have been able to use these decals without having to do this stupid mastery thing that doesnt even work
Have you raised a ticket yet, or deleted high layer liveries? it worked for me when I deleted 300 layer liveries.
...it's definitly an 8th gen console problem. It is not related to a lack of space on the hard drive, but to resources released by the system software. Meanwhile we know that 8GB RAM has become too little to continue to be standard, be it in terms of missing train layers or drawing distance. Because I had the same experience with these error messages that appear suddenly while using the Livery Designer, I know the problem well. Since then I make sure to always save the current working savegame and overwrite older liveries to make room for new ones. So all what we can do on 8th gen consoles is to use the little available storage space as best as possible, until sometime next gen consoles are finally available.
Yesterday I opened a new thread under the section ”Creation centre”. I attach my comment below, cause it might give you an answer to the issue, which you have in the Livery Editor (especially, if you are on a console) - - - Good evening to you all train enthusiasts. Have you experienced problems with the TSW2 Livery Editor - the Editor won't save your layers/livery, the Editor crashes and erases all your custom liveries. I experienced this problem last weekend, but luckily I got some help (unfortunately I can't remember the name of this kind train enthusiast), found out the reason behind this failure and was able to fix the situation. Some people on the TSW Facebook groups encouraged me to share this info also on this forum, so here goes. 1) Each custom livery can contain a total of 300 layers. 2) Each player can have a total of 300 saved custom liveries. A limit, which is not directly referred to in the game is that there is also a maximum number of total layers that one player can have in the Livery Editor. This number is not 90.000 (i.e. 300 layers per livery x 300 saved custom liveries), or at least on consoles this number is much lower. I had a total of 40 custom liveries, which all contained about 150-300 layers each on the average. With this amount of total layers (6000-12000) I hit the limit, which created a situation, where I wasn't able to save anymore layers/liveries in the game, and as an added bonus, the failure erased all my existing custom liveries (the game indicated that I had 0/300 liveries, although a minute earlier I had 40 custom liveries). I don't know, what the exact total layer cap for all custom liveries in the game is, and whether this is only applicable to PS4, or consoles, or if it applies to PC as well. After I had deleted a few of my custom liveries (from 40 -> to 26), the Editor started to work again and the problem hasn't emerged again. Nevertheless, remember to take a backup of your TSW2 save game files (either to PSplus cloud if you have it, or to external memory stick or something similar), so that you can restore your custom liveries, in case you hit the layer cap and the game erases all your custom liveries. It would be a shame to lose all the custom liveries for good, which you have been working on for several hours..
As always perfect, as always outstanding. In other thought. I'm scared cause, right now more fun gives me creating liverys than riding train hihihi.
I’m on the same boat with you. I’m currently spending more time creating new custom liveries than driving the trains. Althoug this week I’ve been driving a bit more just to get those Mastery challenge rewards, which I can use in the Livery Editor.
I currently have a blockage, something prevents me from playing until I transfer the Ghostbusters logo to the BTC-3 and CTC-3 wagons to make a mini logo. Massacre, well, I can't start the route, because I want to go to the Boston Sprinter with my complete squad. Hehehe I put the chains on myself.
My Livery Editor just crashed and erased all my custom liveries (although I had only 26 saved liveries). The sad thing is that I had not copied my game files to the PS cloud for a little while. Hence I lost my BR182 FN Cargo livery and the BR185 HVLE livery. Quite a few hours of work down the drain.
I've got it when i make to fast moves, maybe save it more often, and make your moves more gently... Im with you with that lost man, i know that feeling.
Has anybody done any CrossCountry stuff? If so can someone give me some pointers as to how to get the details right?
And finished: Unfortunately there's a point where lettering gets so small it pixelates into illegibility. The best one can do is hope the blurry blob has the right shape!
Sorry for spam, but i want just put all in one post ... I think for now it's quite funny I present to you F40PH3C in Ghostbusters Livery with CTC3 and BTC3 cars: Ufff... ver 1.0 ver. 2.0 Best Regards
Solicitr, your BR101 BKK livery looks absolutely amazing. The differrence what one can do with the Editor on PC in comparison to consoles, is gigantic. Papi, I can see why you wanted to first finish the livery for all the modules, before putting this train into use. Looks amazing. I decided to give a small uplift to my latest custom livery, which I did for the BR185.5 (as I had to re-do it after the Editor erased it). Are the yellow stripes a bit too much - what do you think? BR 185 003 - 4 pulling a mixed freight consist on the Köln- Aachen route. Crispy & clear winter day with snow. Thoroughly enjoyed the journey.
I decided to go into the fictional business of liveries, and made my own TOC: GLASGOW! They operate a small fleet of some Class 387 Electrostars, one preserved Class 314 (314201) and a couple of "modified" BR 143s from Germany, primarily for depot movements. The 387:
Ok....going to say goodbye to some of my work and try this out.....if all goes well this will be great.
Well....I got distracted and bought train simulator 2022 on steam. Can't wait to see what I can do with a pc! Swiss version has 8 things and is on sale for with taxes included 17.11!
Inspired by a Bluebonnet F7 livery someone uploaded recently, I decided to make a boxcar to go with it so it's not just hauling Clinchfield stuff. Unfortunately, the Livery Editor logo pack does not include any ATSF decals. Thus, I spent many hours doing the lettering of the logos and that darn cursive. I also tried to put a lot of fine detail into the weathering. All in all, it took 677 layers. I think it turned out alright, for what it's worth. This is the reference photo I used. It is a very different type of boxcar obviously but I think it served as good inspiration. Maybe I'll get around to doing the refrigerator too to make it a little more authentic but that's all the effort I can muster for now. Cheers
Inspired by the livery on the Mk1 coaches used on the West Somerset Railway and by DMUs I've seen on other heritage railways, here's my custom Class 101 livery, which I hope to bale able to use on other routes other than LOTGW. Made on PS4.
Thanks! This was my first attempt at making anything in the Livery Designer but I like how it turned out. It definitely improved my ability to break things down into simple shapes. Cheers
So this is my first post on the forums and one of my first properly designed liveries. I was pretty bored of seeing so much red on German routes and thought what better loco to give a repaint to than the awesome 101. I tried to pay as much attention to detail as I could when making it and I would love to hear what people think and if anyone has any tips for improving it. For reference this is a picture of the actual 101 at Köln Hbf:
Beautiful! I LOVE it when someone pays attention to the technical markings! Are you on PC, so it can be uploaded?
