Nat just put up the upcoming Stream for this coming week?
My question to the community is what do you think they will announce on this coming Tuesday's roadmap Update? Do you think that we will see any preservation crew update to the game finally or not?
    Lets start the speculation :D

They don't announce when pres crew updates will be coming until they've already happened - and they don't announce it in the roadmap. Given Adam's not listed as being in attendance I think there'll be very little, or even no updates, on pres crew stuff.

It'll release when it releases. I don't think we need endless threads about the preservation crew updates, nor polls that none of us know the awnser to.

Speculate all you want, we all do it from time to time, but every thread doesn't have to be a poll. Why not wait for Tuesday and then you'll have your answer.

Dovetail and speculation is a nasty little infection.

Maybe we should do a poll to decide if PegasusLeosRailwayFanatix should stop spamming the forums with useless polls and speculative topics. If you're that bored go and fill in a sudoku.

The Roadmap this week will contain a lot of talk about Pres Crew, Adam not being a part of it is intentional we are bringing out a "big gun" Matt to discuss as he is the executive producer.

In that case, DTG Natster, perhaps we could get a little clarification as to why Adam's updates are perpetually shoved to the back of the testing queue, and why wrt updates and bugfixes it's always jam tomorrow? It has been six months. Six. Months.

I might actually tune in to Tuesday's Roadmap stream. In another thread, DTG Natster mentioned that she was bringing in Matt to update us about the Preservation Crew updates and the PS 5 issues, among other things.

More (or equally) to the point, what is the “something else” option? They are either going to release at least one update or they are not. Yes or No. There is no possible something else.

fabristunt chieflongshin There is nothing on the forum that said I can't create a new Poll. If you don't want to say anything then don't write anything. You don't have the right to say who can and can't do things when you don't work for the company.

chieflongshin Just letting you know you DO NOT HAVE TO PUT CAP AND PUT A PICTURE IN IT. You don't see me using a cap when i talk to you. A ridiculous person does that, you don't have to admit something in the cap, Is that how you treat people in real life as well? Really a disgrace.

Wow, many people complaining about a little poll. If they annoy you that much then why keep the poll alive by posting in them. I don't see the harm, Again, this is how free speech works no? If you don't like what someone says then you ignore them or debate them. It's also kind of funny that when someone posts something criticising DTG on the forum them certain people here jump on them telling them to stop moaning but if someone dares to post a poll they do the exact thing they were trying to put down in the first place.

    ^This 100%.

We will find out what is (or is not) coming in due time.
"Please reframe from" gave me a chuckle. For all intensive purposes, I have zero taller ants for people who put their morality on a pedal stool like a bunch of pre-Madonnas. :D
The concept of free speech does not apply to a privately-owned square of discussion. :)

Me, I just ignore the threads. If you think they are in violations of the forum rules, report them and move on. Add users with whom you would prefer not to communicate to your ignore list, and move on.

    Cheers

It does if it fits in with the forum rules which it does. I agree Forums are not democracies but if people are using 'free speech' that doesn't violate the rules (which in this case it doesn't) what is there to object to, you gave the solution in your original message. I've ran quite a few forums in the past (both as Admin and Moderator) and I found it is good to let everyone express their opinion so long as it isn't offensive or idiotic.

I'm not saying DTG have to do anything I'm just saying it worked a treat in the past.

You seem to be conflating free speech, which is a legally protected concept, with etiquette and form. DTG is under no obligations to allow users to say whatever they want, subject to the protection of free speech laws. They may, at their discretion at any time or for any reason, remove user content and contributions from the forums. It is certainly very gracious and generous of them to allow for such open discussion, but it is neither a right nor an entitlement.

    Cheers

As a man that have blocked many on this forum (including this person that started this thread), the answer is yes. You won't see any posts and threads appear from the ignored user (unless you clicked the 'Show Ignored Content' button at the bottom of the page).

Simplest reason Adam’s updates are delayed is that revenue earning items have priority in testing :(
It’s that, or they just like winding you up…

Well, this is a misconception by yourself, if I may say so. Adam stated ever now and then, that a big new task for his crew is to assist 3rd party in development especially mentioning Rivet and Skyhook. Probably JT as well, as they are new to this. I guess the fact that HSC by Skyhook has been pushed back correlates with the new tasks for the Pres. Crew. His team has expertise in nearly every relevant field - gameplay, environment art, vehicle art, signalling, sounds, maybe even UI. So there is always enough for them to do. Of course bug fixing and giving the main development team help as well. So no waste of ressources at all. The only waste is, that there is this mythical bottle neck that drives everyone (especially Adam, which is understandable) crazy. But Matt said that he wants to get that one cleared. And I don't know what others think about that, but I trust Matt very much that he has the ability, the capability and hopefully also the ressoucres to finally break the bottles' neck.

They have been retasking Adam's team just lately, because there is no point in having them continue to do route updates what with six months' unreleased backlog.

Which leads to the conclusion that several routes which urgently need some attention, might never be updated, unless those updates are already in some circular pipeline in the Chatham basement, behind a locked door to which no-one remembers the combination, which seems to be the case. ;);)

Apparently we are waiting for testing as all the updates have been completed. Adam's team were helping with that but seem to get reassigned at the drop of a hat. Then we are given the excuse we have to wait for slots on top of that. Not totally convinced myself and imo DTG should concentrate on one thing at a time. If they just concentrated on this pres updates and got them out they then could move onto DLC but then whenever advice is offered to DTG it is rarely taken.

Considering the quality of recently released stuff by third parties, it must have been really something special for DTG to delay it. Something that's unlikely to be fixed in such a short time. We better hope it stays there as long as it needs to, or we'll get the next shanty DLC.

That may well be the case, but there is another possibility: for marketing reasons, DTG decided it was coming too close on the heels of the broadly similar Sherman Hill- which, apparently, was not a big hit given that it was almost immediately discounted 75% at the Railfest sale.

There is a general steady improvement in the quality of routes, though there are minor fluctuations.

Good to hear about the open beta plan, I actually was writing something asking why not do this instead of the Romanian and Indian testers who may or may not be familiar with PZB etc but you got it out in time :)

Not a huge fan of outsourcing QA to low wage places if I'm honest and certainly not a fan of raising that as an explanation to why the QA is now going slow. It's your call to go that route and I'm glad we are moving a different way now.

So a mea culpa from Matt (on behalf of DTG), more info about the QA process and how the work's farmed out generally (which I personally found quite interesting), an update on pres crew QA status, an update on PS5 dlc progress and the bone of an open beta of pres crew updates for Steam users at some point in the future. From the way Matt was talking I would be surprised to see the open beta surface much before another two months at least.
