Yes I liked the stream, only negative thing I could see is the bad LoD popping on trees, buildings and the sleepers. But the route and the trains are looking awesome.
What about the sounds? I watched bits of it, and it felt like Class 143 barely has any sounds for motors and stuff.
It seems DTG still don’t know how OHLE works. On straight sections of track, the wires are supposed to go in a zig-zag movement but instead they are just dead straight.
The scenery was nice, the mountains look far better than the heavy haul. The two story cars look amazingly detailed as well Sounds do seem lacking. I dont have ts18 although I'm considering it due to the immersion like sound. Tsw is gorgeous but lacking in areas.
Did he mention anything about an update for the base game at the release of RSN? Anything about the editor or the PIS?
RSN looks very nice indeed. The improvements to PZB are welcome and the scenery on the route looks beautiful. Cannot wait to dig into it on Friday
At the end, in the station, there is a passenger on the rails. I hope they will correct this before the release. But it looks good! Let's wait.
Is a new level of realism Like in real life when people cross rails with incoming train and the machinist apply emergency brake like in the video
Yea, one of the passenger Bugs whos been in the game since GWE, just like them not leaving the train at the last train station. We can only hope about them fixing it someday.
I'll wait to see what comes next I have positive thoughts for ETS2 and ATS, and even Bus Simulator 18. DTG is not a new company in train simulator games. Since then, they could at least fix what's wrong.
The catenary masts are nicely modelled, but there are no counterweights or pull-off sections, so in general it is rather simplistic in approach. However, the route looks great and there should be plenty of variety in the scenarios and services.
No, there will not be an update for the base game, though it has been said there will be an update in future ....
I liked the announcement of more variety in services. There is progress... A minor thing, did you see the engines pop out of the shed when you select them? This screen also shows the number of services. Other new feature is the accellerometer.
I liked what I saw on the stream, new features is always nice. looking forward to Thursday when it releases.
If I look correctly, the accelerometer on the BR 143 did not work at all. I'm not talking about the bar displayed in the HUD but about the round gauge on the left of the speedometer in the cab of the loco. The pointer in this gauge is always vertical what actually means that the loco neither is accelerating nor braking, it's just standing still. The indicator should move clockwise when the train is accelerating and should move counter-clockwise as it is breaking. The gauge worked fine on the BR 185.2 though, even though it's a digital one there and not an analogue one like on the 143. To be completely correct I might have to mention that this isn't a real acceleration indicator. If you look closely, you can see that the gauge shows the force applied by the locomotive (unit kN = kilonewton). But here applies: Force=mass*acceleration Furthermore, the mass is constant, so the force is a measure of acceleration and the force display can almost be seen as an acceleration indicator. You only notice the difference between acceleration and applied force when you see that the indicator will show a little positive force even when the train maintains a constant speed, so actually acceleration = 0. This force is exactly the amount of power the loco has to apply in order not to be slowed down by air resistance. Anyway, this gauge should really be working, it has done so in a lot of locos in TS20xx and it also does in the 185.2. So maybe it's just a small bug which wasn't fixed yet? I hope so, but as I haven't seen anyone mentioning this I thought I'd probably wouldn't be bad to do so. See the picture I attached, if you don't know what I mean.
Yes Matt said it should work and they will look into it, i think on release the accelerometer will be fixed.
That's great to hear. It would have been a pity seeing another problem even before release. But if you're right and we'll see it working tomorrow I could almost say that I'm satisfied with everything I saw. Seems like DTG really tried to do its best this time - they even listened to our complaints regarding PZB, signalling, missing variety etc. I'm amazed! Can't wait to climb aboard!
