TSW3 should definitely be for steam only. No diesels, no electrics.

Haven’t weighed in on this yet, because, LOL.

My thoughts are that TSW 5 will be exclusive to Elon Musk’s Neural Implant.

And TSW 6? Well the Terminators will be able to play it in their own heads.

TSW7 won't even be a game. It'll be the afterlife.

No. This should be available for both console and PC. It is one of only TWO simulators that are available for these.

So, we're up to TSW 7 now? I'll tell ya what. If the folks at DTG aren't reading this and contemplating jumping off the train at Willoughby, it would be a minor miracle.

Pro Tip: If you get that reference, you are officially old!!

Someone posted up that they thought the Gen 8 would be dropped with TSW2 getting the UE5 update and that is a good shout imo.

Ok I think we need to stop making a group of players feel bad that they enjoy the game on their current systems and trying to tell them when they get off the train.

Enjoy it for where it is now. If it's ever going to change we'll let you know, until then, it's not going to change.

Everyone who plays is welcome and appreciated no matter which flavour of system you have and it does somewhat upset me that there are people seeing this thread who will be getting a really bad feeling from the community because of threads like this.

The thread has had some interesting discussion, but these "we should drop x users at y time" posts are too much and need to stop.

While the Gen 8 experience will not keep up with the Gen 9 experience (which ought to be obvious really, given the Gen 9 platforms are so much more powerful) there are no plans to drop Gen 8 and indeed extensive effort is still put into making the game run as well as it can on Gen 8. New features will continue to make it to Gen 8 as will new content. If we can't make something run to the same level on Gen 8 without compromising framerate we'll find a new normal for it so that it runs well and appropriately for that platform without impacting Gen 9 or PC.

All players are important to the future of Train Sim World, let's stop trying to make out like anyone is holding us back and look forward to a strong future together!

    Matt.

I'm surprised this thread hasn't been locked yet with the usual statement of "this thread has run it's course"

Not to mention the OP requested admins to close the thread awhile ago.

It had run its course before it was even created, it’s a pretty naive question and the OP has quite the habit of instigating such conversations, which is why I am surprised so many took this thread seriously.

OPs start a thread, they don't control it. The point of a "forum" is anyone can read, respond and learn from it, so even if the OP starts it with a certain intent, others may get other things from it (even a good laugh talking about future iterations of the game)

Maybe this should be added to the forum rules as it is insulting to players on different platforms? Just a thought.

I think it's more of a matter of etiquette rather than a rule...

Thank you!, … it is a part of basic manners and reflects poorly on those who fail to display such societal refinements.

Usually if an OP requests a thread to be closed, someone would usually lock it, so that's why I'm surprised this isn't locked yet.

I said almost at the beginning of this thread that we shouldn't feed trolls, but no one took the hint, instead most took the bait. It's happened before and no doubt will happen again.

it’s called “adulting,” nowadays. Something I’m pretty sure most here are capable of. ;)

I'd been a PC gamer for years, but as it's not practical for me to have a high-powered gaming PC, I moved to Playstation a few years ago - it's just easier knowing that the spec is consistent and optimised for gaming - no settings to tinker, no ever increasing list of other applications running. I have a decent laptop for games where modding is key like TS2022, but it feels like Im always on a knife-edge with performance.

I'm lucky in that I have a PS5, and I upgraded earlier than I normally might to get the benefits of rush hour. The long-term to solution would be to eventually stop supporting older generations, as other franchises will, but you need to give people more time to upgrade otherwise it's unfair.

This thread came to it's natural end 2 pages ago when both myself and Matt answered the OP's question.
