The theme for this week will be :- Passenger trains in the world Good luck, it can go on.....
Lots of railfans are taking pictures of a Class 117 getting ready to leave Radstock station on the North Somerset Railway Grand Opening Day. Loco: Class 117 Route: North Somerset Railway
It's a busy day on the East Coast Main Line, and lots of passenger trains are coming through Welwyn Garden City station. Locos: Class 43, Class 313, Class 317, Class 365 Route: East Coast Main Line London-Peterborough
A Class 320 heading from Milngavie to Bellgrove. Loco: Class 320 Route: Suburban Glasgow Northwest: Springburn - Helensburgh
DB BR01-181 with icicles hanging from the chassis heads out of Munich en route to Garmisch Loco:- RR DB BR01 Route:- Munich - Garmisch
Sorry to be a pain but the loco is not a BR01.5 it is a BR01 with large boiler. The 01.5 is an ex DDR “Rekolok” and has Shrouding along the top of the boiler so that the chimney is only visible from above and in service was only seen in West Germany at border crossings, Hof, Bebra, Hamburg and Helmstedt. The number scheme was in computer days 01.15xx for the coal fired and 01.05xx for oil fired. Love the pictures.
Well spotted, I should have known better, no idea where BR1.5 came from, although in my defence it was somewhat late and the wine had been flowing LOL. I only grabbed it from JT last night and that was it's first outing. As for the second shot I lazily copy & pasted the info from the first one. That will teach me. Must admit I am really getting in to these German kettles and enjoying learning their history. Thanks again for the info. Cheers
Hello everyone, as there were not too many pictures, which does not necessarily make the decision easier, here are the rankings. 3rd place: @cscar with the BR01 on the way to Garmisch, and if I see it correctly just at the departure in Starnberg. 2nd place: Craigie-C , the Class 41 from AP, a really successful picture. 1st place: Blazin , lots of activity at Welwyn Garden City, lovely picture, congratulations. Thanks to everyone for taking part, Blazin , it' s your turn.
Thank you so much for selecting me as winner this week. There was plenty of beautiful screenshots this week. Congratulations to the other winners in second place and third place.
