    400 miles unlikely.

I would hope there's an outside chance of getting one of the northern sections at some point, maybe Lancaster to Carlisle which is still 70 miles. Preferably set in the classic electric era as the TS routes are.

On the bright side you'll be getting 15 miles from Crewe to Weaver Jn in Spirit Of Steam...

No chance of them realistically portraying a route with 7 or 8 classes of trains running at one every 90 seconds. The engine would crash.
Maybe part of the route further north as already commented

Still too long a section. Even Euston to Rugby (with or without Northampton) would be pushing it.

Something like Trent Valley from Rugby to Stafford could be doable.

Birmingham to Wolverhampton is a little too short. Birmingham to Shrewsbury and Birmingham to Walsall with a class 350 and 170 would be quite a good package.

Or even better with a class 304 and Tyseley hybrid suburban unit but that is very unlikely!

They are very unlikely to build a route of that length at the moment.

Too long and this can be done as WCML South Birmingham to London Euston WCML Birmingham to Crewe WCML Crewe-Preston/Liverpool. The last two sections are WCML North and Over Shap Preston-Carlisle-Glasgow

If you want a long route to play use the class 390 and 350 on then you can in TS1 as suggested above. The WCML South Euston to New Street add-on which comes with both classes plus a 221 and 378. And, the merge of the WCML Over Shap and North routes which combines with the Edinburgh to Glasgow route via a freeware route so you can drive from Preston to Glasgow or Edinburgh. Even those two routes on their own give a decent run and are often found in sales.

Yes it doesn't look quite a polished as TSW, although I wouldn't say nearly as far behind as some make out especially when you use the various graphical enhancments available.

Yes it means you don't get service mode and will have to make scenarios or use those available in various places or which come with the route (in the case of WCML South). However the scenario editor isn't hard to use when you get used to it, there are plenty of tutorials and I find when making scenarios using real timetables of the day, the result can be very rewarding, and you can make them as realistic as you wish within the contstraints of what is in your library. Also you don't have to put up with totally incorrect physics like the otherwise lovely looking WCL class 150/2 or stupid unrealistic layers.

I can't see a route like Euston to Birmingham being released in the near future, although we were saying that about TS1 tens years ago and eventually it came.

Yes Keith Ross did a fantastic job on WCML North and Over Shap. The Class 87 is challenging and a pleasure to drive. Apart from the track textures (which I know can be swapped out) the scenery is very good. TS1 lighting is much better than TSW (IMHO), in particular on a bright sunny day the track doesn't look like it's covered with a black oil slick.

Yes they both remain two of my favourite routes and combined give a good long run, plus I believe Preston was a crew change over point so that adds another level of realism. There is so much good stock too with AP loco and unit packs and AP enhancement packs offering higher levels of sounds and immersion, including suitable DMU's and EMU's and carriages. There is a new class 87 being made which will be a definate purchase for me.

Will TSW ever be able to offer the same, I hope so but I am not convinced.
