You mean like how they have worked hard to resolve the wrong PZB mode on Rapid Transit? Or perhaps you mean how they have worked hard to fix the BR182 with the wrong speed shown? Or maybe you mean how they have worked hard to fix the shocking state they left Reigate Station on the release of London Commuter? No? Then you must mean the way they have fixed the broken in cab signalling on Sherman Hill/Boston Sprinter/LIRR? So which of these long standing issues have been sorted by DTG precisely?
Actually, I think he meant how they fixed the poor performance on SHM without having any repercussion at all on how the route looks Jokes apart, we should still be grateful for the preservation crew, as I would imagine it doesn't bring in much money, it might be there just for PR
Im just updating my game now to see for myself how well theyve done on this TBH, do I need a stiff drink prior to booting it up?
Trump recommends bleach for things which put you at risk mate. This is not an official communication on my part so read up (and perhaps avoid)
Works both ways - the fact that you took the time to comment and answer concerns in here meant I decided to pre-order today, thank you - first gaming product I ever pre-ordered, too. Excited to finally have a train I know well in the game!
I heard the people of Reigate were that inflamed by the game they chose to demolish and remove parts of the area closer to the station so it matched its virtual misrepresentation
This screenshot in the Microsoft Store isn't too promising. Edit: However, this gameplay video is much better! Is this the released build then?
By the way: Has anyone found out how to reset an emergency brake? Can’t get the train working again… Edit: Just found out: Pull the train brake (not the combined lever) all the way back and release it again
Okok, so I played my first few runs, and I must say: I’m quite impressed! The scenery is great, the train is awesome and the sounds are amazing as well. BUT I found a few issues so far: 1. There are no PIS station names for the RE services 2. The AI has no PIS light up 3. Dispatch beyond is not enabled 4. The window is very tinted (2.,3.,4. are known, they are working on those) 5. there are no bell sounds on the level crossings 6. ETCS bug: Right in front of Rothenburg if driving towards Luzern there is a small dwarf signal. The ETCS thinks that this one is the red signal and will stop you in front of it, which is 200m away from the station. Because the signal isn’t red you can pass it, and the ETCS will get up to <40 again; but as I said you have stoped in front of the station at the dwarf signal to stop again 200m later at the station. 7. Speed bug with ETCS: The signs with the next speed reduction are putting down the brake curve of ETCS immediately which will cause an emergency brake. Examples are: 1. Between Rothenburg and Sempach, speed reduction from 160–> 125; will immediately reduce the speed of the train which gives you no chance to brake at all-> emergency brake 2. Between Rothenburg and Emmenbrücke, speed reduction from 110–>90; same problem Apart from that I haven’t found any problems and I’m happy to have this route now, and I’m hopeful to get some other trains like an Re420,460 or an Domino here
Was this the release build? 6 & 7 is very serious, I'd call these game-breaking bugs. Shame, as the scenery looked ok.
good question, not sure. Regarding Luzern to Sursee: Everything fine! And personally, I do prefer using only integra; feels like a light version of PZB; and it works perfect!
When people stop preordering games until they are fixed. No pressure on developers to test and fix their games before release if it sells anyways.
I strongly suspect that the last time a piece of bug-free computer software was written, it was a 'Hello World' program in Basic. I've a mate who's a professor specialising in safety-critical systems software. He assures me that there are plenty of bugs in aircraft flight control and engine management systems, and you don't buy those for £25.
Well yes, every software (or product, to begin with) will have flaws, I think that is to be expected. The issue is when these flaws are obvious, and fixable, but the developer decides to release anyway - because at that point it's up to their good will to fix it or abandon it and leave it as it is. If people would stop preordering digital games, and actually wait and see if the product even works properly, then the developers would have more pressure on them to release the software in a good shape in the first place. Anyway, that is kind of off topic. I will be watching tonight's stream of the route. It looks very good so far so I am interested in getting it. if the currently known issues really are already known and being worked on, then I will wait for a patch to release and get the route then.
It's quite enjoyable with londonmidland's suggestion (it's from an old thread). Just add the following to the Engine.ini file: r.BloomQuality=3 r.Color.Max=1.0 r.Color.Mid=0.5 r.Color.Min=0 r.TonemapperGamma=3 r.EyeAdaptationQuality=1 r.DefaultFeature.AutoExposure=1 r.DefaultFeature.AutoExposure.ExtendDefaultLuminanceRange=1 Give it a go, I think we'll be fine with these settings until a patch comes (if it comes...).
fondly reminds me of the inherent darkness of Clinchfield which I believe was solved by “ drive at night in summer” support
I really don't know why DTG don't acknowledge and can't fix this darkness that seems to afflict the ground in pretty much all TSW routes. As I've said previously, it's not evident at all on TS routes even in wet or gloomy conditions. It's like having a layer of oil or tar painted across the ground.
it’s not only resolving the tint issues, I think it also looks fantastic! In my opinion one of the best looking routes (even more in the rain) ever
Did anyone realize that although the route is good, and the train itself? The camera view inside the train cab is not present. i try to switch camera view using the left and right arrow keys, but it doesn't work, it just brings me back to the center view of the cab train. Is this a bug or something that they forgot? It's very annoying in some ways not being able to switch camera position, such as sticking my head out the window or zooming in on an important displays.
First impressions - really nice and Id say this is the same standard as a DTG route. Now the big question is the advertisment for "Ideal" which resembles a leading Swedish furniture store, is a Swedish route up next from Rivet??
I started up Luzern-Sursee route and then my system restarted automatically. Lol, I ironically thought of this post first.
Would be great if someone could post pictures of all the adverts inside the train. They usually include a teaser for the next route. For example, Cornwall’s Class 150 had a Swiss advert with a picture of a historic landmark in Luzern.
In the intro to the ETCS they referred to a manual where additional details were found. I have searched in my files section without any luck. Someone on today's stream said look in the Steam sales page for the route and I did not see anything there either.
3 of the 5 adverts are for West Cornwall, Luzern and Arosa, the 4th is for a French Burger Resturant/takeaway called L'Amore Burger and the 5th is for "Ideal" which resembles Ikea, given that I just realised that theres an "Ideal" store passed on the outskirts of Luzern (same colours as Ikea) Im leaning towards L'Amore as being the clue now.
Go to the store page for the DLC and click as per below Its actually a pleasant surprise how detailed it. Top marks to Rivet for this.
The route looks good but I think the ETCS is broken. Very first scenario, it made me SPAD. There was no indication for speed change and the emergency brake was too late.
Did anyone realize that inside this train cab their heater actually functions and you could also hear the heater sound when you turn it on from the program key control and hit the button underfoot heater and side heater? This is the first that we actually have a working heater inside this cab and train. Now if only DTG Team can also do the same for all their other trains that are already in-game, and the newer one. What do you guys think?
Umm, no? Not all, but plenty of other trains have functioning heaters and fans in the cab. For example, the Class 314 on Catchcart Circle has a functioning fan in the cab. So does the AC4400CW from Cane Creek. Some other american locos also have functioning heaters - while most do not do anything, but I remember at least one of them making sound when turned on. But yes, it's a nice detail.
I think something is wrong with the safety system because i keep on trying to turn it off and was permitted a higher speed, but when i went to the control panel and try to turn it off, it won't turn off, it just stuck at 40 and won't go any higher. I believe this is a bug? I am doing the Scenario There and Back again when I encounter this problem. I haven't tried another scenario or any timetable yet so i won't know.
Using my incredible powers of deduction I predict the next route to be, then, Paris to Hamburg. 745km via Köln, 9 hour journey - can't wait!
Why would it stop at Hamburg? Lets go all the way across Denmark and finish up in Malmo given the other advert is a flat pack furniture store?
It could be a route for the french speaking Canton of Switzerland rather than mainland France. Maybe Bern?
