Why isn't the red Railion-liveried DB 363 loco DLC usable in those routes that come with the "free" blue Bundesbahn 363 as well? I don't regret buying it separately, since it is very well made and interesting to drive, but I do feel a bit "short changed" I can't drive it outside Ruhr-Sieg Nord, unlike the other German loco DLCs.
I don't understand that either. At least make it chooseable, so people who have it can make use out of it and people who don't have it don't.
Yeah, I meant it should be available for those who bought the 363 DLC. It's literally the same loco with a different livery, shouldn't be too hard... And I wouldn't be against seeing the blue 363 on Ruhr-Sieg Nord either (again, for those who own the 363 DLC, of course). It's strange they started handing out the 363 like candy with the new German routes, but those who bought it separately are seemingly left "forgotten". There should be some incentive to own the original loco DLC, because if every German route comes with a free 363 from now on, unless you want to drive it on Ruhr-Sieg, there's no reason (and no money for Dovetail) to buy the separate DLC.
I 100% agree with BlaringHorn if a loco is a standalone DLC it's a standalone DLC. If you want to drive it buy the DLC. It's simply not acceptable to see the same loco thrown in with a route with the justification it's a different colour. DTG could have included the Blue 363 as a layer on Reisa Dresden for those who owned the original 363 and would have got additional sales from. It makes zero sense from a business perspective and it's a kick in the face to those of us who have supported DTG through their wallets and purchased the loco. Until we get assurances from DTG that loco DLCs will not then be released on as standard on future routes I will be keeping my wallet shut and no doubt I am not alone in this. RIVET, TSG and Skyhook need to have serious words with DTG over this policy as it's going to impact their sales as well.
I'm in a similar debate with myself over the DB BR 101. I would like to try it out, as it's actually one of the few german trains I'm interested in, it being different from all the same looking modern EMUs and such. But I'm not interested in it's home route, HRR. So buying a route I don't want just so I can drive the 101 on other routes doesn't sound like a good deal to me. And also why should I buy HRR and the 101, when there is a chance that in the future they will release another german route that will feature the 101 from the get go and I could get just that one? Sadly their loco and substitution system seems very badly designed in this regard.
Yeah but if I wait 6months will it come as standard on a new DLC? That is what I am asking myself and given my experience of the 363 I'm not going to allow myself to possibly be ripped off a 2nd time. Fool me once, shame on you, Fool me twice, shame on me as the saying goes
