Back in the day around 2015 you could just jump on and run trains. Choose free roam, select an engine and do what ever you want. I like building trains. Can't figure out how to do this in 2022????????????????? Does this option even exist anymore? Used to pop up in a yard and have at it. PLEASE HELP! Please tell me I didn't waste my money.
Free roam as an option still exists, however not all routes have a free roam. Most routes released recently have "Career" or "Standard" scenarios to play and if you want your own train and drive wherever you want then you can use the Quick Drive mode.
You will find FreeRoam scenarios for some routes in the Workshop and it's pretty easy to create your own. Even I do it sometimes to compose screen shots.
Go in to Build>Scenarios then pic the route you wish to drive. If there are any Free Roam Scenarios they will be in the list - Click one>Edit then place which locos and stock you want to run If a Free Roam does not exist Click New Scenario, choose Free Roam and the starting location. Something new since 2015 is Quick Drive Choose a Train, Choose a route and pick the start and end locations along with start time and weather. When the scenario starts you will be at the train and you will have a clear run to your destination Stop at stations if you want or go non stop if you don't But the route is fixed. Peter
