Could we have York to Newcastle with class 800 LNER and Transpennine the line is 91 miles or 146 kilometers
Also sry I went back to the create thread page to try make a poll and accidentally made another thread I thought it would overwrite it
I know I accidentally made two posts I don’t know how to delete one sry, how to delete? I backspaced to the create page to make a poll and I thought it would overwrite the current thread, sry
This i have changed the suggestion to follow the rules again, I would like to add I never meant to break any rules it was totally unintentional
The person I tagged is the forum moderator (community manager) but I guess changing the name works too. Hopefully Nat can clean up the comments
So I'm guessing this is the thread to respond to the OP... York to Newcastle as it stands is at least 20 - 25 miles too long for a TSW route, so you would either be looking at York to Darlington (flat, boring), or Darlington to Newcastle (slightly less boring). And please, not with modern Hitachi Knotweed rubbish. At least give us Class 91's and Mark IV's along with HST's or even better Deltics hauling Mark II A/C stock.
Please try reading what I posted... York to Newcastle is around 80 miles. Current maximum TSW route length is around 55 miles. 80 - 55 = 25...
An 80 mile long route shouldn't be out of consideration, and in terms of ECML sections it's one of the shorter segments going between two major stations. There's also only 7 stations to model (with Darlington already present in TVL) with most of what lays in between being open countryside. I also agree that it would be best set in the BR era, preferably either in the early 1960's during the steam to diesel transition, or in the late 1970's with Valenta powered HSTs replacing the Deltics. There's layering scope for NTP stock and the Class 31 too.
Oh I fully agree Alex, was simply going on what the current parameters seem to be. If DTG really want to revolutionise TSW in the 5 years going forward, then they need to start being more radical and that includes longer routes.
Give me a deltic on a EC crack express, and class 47s on a parcel set in the BR blue era and it would fly off the shelf. Date it in the late 90s early noughties with Class 91 and IC125s and it would be solid seller. Make it present day with Azumas and it will flop. Stick it in modern era
To be honest it would probably be a lot better in the br era if people really dislike the hitachi trains
I think the landlord should suggest a ten-mile route mileage, because DTG likes to make short routes most, saving costs and maximizing business, and proposes that long-distance routes will have other people within the distance of your post reply being too long. Depressed words.
I don't personally dislike the hitachi trains (in fact I was on one yesterday and I quite liked it), but for improving gameplay the BR era would be best for this route segment as there was generally more freight and a greater variety of services with scope for layers using existing stock like I mentioned already. It would also be a nice homage to the original Newcastle to York route from Railworks/Train Simulator.
I think they can re-use and improve the route built on Train Simulator for ECML - some people may think it is the same but i could TSW is a totally different next-gen experience.
It will be nice to have the ecml in tsw2, all DLCs based in Yorkshire are usually quite slow [60mph average], so it will be nice to have a 125mph line. personally I think basing it in the 90s with the class 91 and the Deltic will be brilliant if people like it! imo York-Darlington will be better since it seems a bit longer [56 miles] and you get a nice shot of york minster when you are approaching York.
