September 2024 edit: Woah woah woah why are you guys bumping this post in the Year of our Lord 2024. Stop that! Like genuinely. What was I on when I made this post. I was obsessed with Sherman Hill but like… wow. This post sucks. Ugh anyways, once this sentence ends we go to uh, the original post. I like it. Yep, the Sherman Hill bison exist. Come inside! Oh wait, there's a fence in my way. And as we all know, you can't get over a short wooden fence. (The sign says "Buttes". This is incredibly funny) What do I say now? They're bison. They make... bison noises. Yes. Bison noises. Very nice. Ever realized that this ballast looks terrifying? What happened to it? How do you stretch rocks?! Yeah, I dunno. I saw bison and thought that I should share it. Here's the first picture again.
Yes bisons, finally they are here! Have one more screenshot in snow setting, during winter time. The streching rocks are caused by displacement mapping or aslo known as bump mapping, made by the UE4. It's a technique to create a 3D pattern over a 2D texture with the help of height maps, which mean light dark patterns of the 2D texture. I hope it is expressed in an understandable way.
They are indeed. Their location is very much out of the way compared to any other mastery reward. Rather than being on the mainline, you’ll find them on the third track between Hermosa and Laramie (closer to Hermosa). It’s such a strange little reward. Like wow… bison… amazing. There’s like two services that use that track.
Do I have to stray from the locomotive and walk over long hills or anything like that? I still can't find them. I do in fact have them turned on in the layout menu also.
They’re in viewing distance of the tracks. I rode a manifest train to search for them, and indeed, I found them while sitting in the train.
