I am trying to get Dovetail to fix the SD70ACe which, according to the game, has less tractive effort than a Dash-8. Help me raise hell so they fix it already! It should be the most powerful loco in the game
It's worth mentioning that the GE Dash 8-40CW uses amps instead of Klb for measuring it's power. The SD70ACe uses Klb for measuring its tractive effort. It seems normal to me, starting a 11,000 tons manifest trains on Laramie Yard, my tractive effort indicator showed around 175-180 Klb, it's about 175,000 - 180,000 lbs of tractive effort, that's normal and also prototypical for SD70ACe.
Look at the loco stats when choosing one! It is ridiculously off. The ACe is barely more powerful than the SD-40
Not sure why DTG went for a stat bar for the locos (which I just ignored them anyways), but Suryaaji is not wrong on traction efforts though. Just for some comparisons for each locos irl: C40-8W: 106,790 lbf SD40-2: 115,000 lbf AC4400CW: 180,00 lbf SD70ACe: 191,000 lbf (just to note that these are on starting traction too) So by this result, the ACe is still powerful than the Dash 8 by traction. Which means in TSW, this is still completely accurate no matter what the stats are shown from the selection screen (and just drop and ignore it if I were you, it's a really pointless piece of UI anyways).
The stat bars in the loco selection screen mean absolutely nothing. They have no values, units or scale so they are utterly meaningless, and should be removed from the game.
