This would be an amazing route to have, from London Euston - Northampton. With The Class 390 lots of services stop there, so there will be alot of Avanti Services aswell to Milton Keynes Central from Euston and To Euston From Milton Keynes Central, Also Class 350 for London Euston to Milton Keynes Central & Northampton and the Hourly Class 377 for Milton Keynes Central to Clapham Junction, we can drive the Southern Service to Wembley Central from Milton Keynes Central. From The busy London down to the quiet Milton Keynes, The WCML South from London Euston to Northampton will be a brilliant route for the game.
I assume you mean only the WCML stations which would mean there would be 4 stations: Euston, Watford, Milton Keynes and Northampton. I like this route but maybe it would make more sense to extend it by one station to Rugby.
You would still need to model all the stations served by West Midlands Trains and London Overground, which would total 32 stations if going as far as Rugby.
Set it in the 70's/80's with AM10's (Class 310) on the locals. Morning and evening peak Cobbler services hauled by anything Willesden could put out, 81 - 86 although the 0720 Norhampton to Euston and 1748 Euston to Northampton were Mark 3 sets and could produce an 87. The AC stopping pattern varied but off peak the Euston - Northampton - Birmingham services called at Watford Jn, Hemel Hempstead, Berkhamsted, Leighton Buzzard, Bletchley, (MKC), Wolverton and Northampton. Bletchley terminators called at Harrow & Wealdstone, Watford Jn, Kings Langley, Apsley, Hemel, Berkhamsted, Tring, Cheddington and Leighton Buzzard. Peak service patterns varied, some stoppers turned around at Tring and a few trains served the mainline platforms at Bushey & Oxhey.
I think that this would be a good route in any era. Also it covers the section of track where the Great Train Robbery Happened which although bad is important to our history.
I don't think that is something we would want to simulate or even mention in connection with the route. The Driver Jack Mills who was severely injured when the felons entered the cab.
Yeah I know that it was a tragedy but I just think it needs to be recognised that his death was ultimately caused by the events of that night as everything I see about the robbery it doesn't seem to recognise the driver. Sorry for miswording it in the first place as I realised I really butchered what I was thinking when typing the original comment and I hope you now understand what I was meant to have said.
