On Sherman Hill and HSC the train lengths are listed in miles for long trains. However as we have working distances in HSC can this be changed to yards please so we know how long to set the distance counters to please
Yeah, i saw many US railfanning videos on YouTube, and all the times the guy mention train length in feet. Using mile, we didn't have any clue how long is our train precisely because the game rounding system.
I agree - time to bring Muricaland and Brexitland citizens into the fold of the civilised world and let them use the metric system *Kappa*
There is a reason for this because it's simpler to say 1 mile instead of 5280 feet which is coded in game.
Except you cant put 1 mile into a train distance counter, and even if you did its not going to be accurate. Even if its exactly 1mile in length(which it wont be) do we put 1760 yards in or 2000 yards given that the game thinks 1/2 mile is 1000 yards?
I get it now and for the device are you referring to the ETOD seen on American and Canadian Freight Trains.
The game doesn’t think 1/2 mile is 1000 yards. In all the countdowns for distance when driving the game goes from counting in miles to counting in yards at exactly the point you would expect it to, well before it would have got down to showing 0.5 miles.
1000 yards equal roughly 0.57 miles. In my experience, the game starts counting down in yards shortly after having ticked down to 0.6 miles. Seems fine to me.
Not sure why replace miles with yards since in the U.S, the length of a train is listed in feet, not yards
