Rich Strike, from an unknown stable with an unknown trainer ridden by an unknown jockey. Only in the field because of a scratch. But put on a charge on the rail in the home stretch that overtook the leaders and won by a length going away. One helluva two minutes.
Nice story and ride. I remember his dam, Gold Strike and watching her run at Woodbine. Always liked that horse. Won the Canadian 3 yo filly championship. Something else interesting I noticed. Out of 7 horses foaled by Gold Strike, she has 6 fillies and one Kentucky Derby champion colt. Anyway, nice to see since horseracing has become so dull nowadays.
I don't get why NBC needs to have a 6 hour broadcast of a race that only last 2 minutes. It's a waste of television space to be honest. It was a good race though
The biggest day of the year for horseracing fans in North America. I get your point but it's a nice throwback to a tradition. What other garbage would NBC broadcast for those 5 hours and 58 minutes?
Oh no, the horror. Not the cultural touchstones of our society! Whatever will we do???? I can't imagine going a single day without them!
Or other sporting events such as the NHL or perhaps the Premier League. Heck maybe even the Johnny Deep v Amber Heard Defemination Trial
