Hi all. I believe the Cathcart Circle line is a little 'eh'. For the price you can get a full route with 3 trains (GWE). Personally I believe the price of this add on wasn't really evaluated correctly and should be at the price with a route with only one piece of rolling stock. Such as the Isle Of Wight: Ryde - Shanklin route which is priced at £19.99. To compensate for this, I think the Class 385 in ScotRail Satire livery would be a great addition. This would be free and would be implemented into the add on and for the people who already own the Cathcart Circle Line, it would be given for free to people before purchase also. Overall, this would add a brand new train to TSW2 wich would increase immersion and would make players enjoy the Cathcart Circle just that little more. Just note, these are my opinions and you may not agree with anything I've said and that's okay.
It would be better if we got a new route, such as Edinburgh to Glasgow via Falkirk, with a Class 385 layering back on (preferably on a separate timetable as the Class 314 and 385 never ran together on Cathcart Circle as far as I know).
The 385 didn't run on the circle alongside the 314, and even today they aren't a particularly common sight. It would be better off on Edinburgh to Glasgow QS, or a route towards Stirling, than this.
Excellent idea and for each trip Class 385 needs a 20-minute break from each Cathcart Circle trip. The reason for this it's the regenerative braking system. Run it like a Class 314 Class 385 will overheat and catch on fire. Results in a message Service Failure Your train has caught on fire. The reason for it is the traction motors overheating.
385s rarely operate cathcart circle services even today, you'd be lucky to see one operate once a week, better if it came with a modern edinburgh-glasgow or something similar
I've never seen any proof to that claim, and the rail forums are hardly a source worth using, especially when there isn't a clear and obvious "it's this post!" with any decent evidence.
Thanks for telling me about that in real life when running peak Cathcart Trips does a class 385 run back to back Cathcart Circle trips or take a break between Services
Most services have gaps before the next one starts, so I would imagine they do back to back runs whilst also having a break.
