where do I start, wow. I would be lying if I said I didnt have a huge grin on my face :) Because I do. I am not a big Steam fan. I know calm down. Steam wasnt my era but BR Blue diesel were. I missed steam by a year. But the last two hours of doing the training missions and looking around have kinda made up for that. Its difficult at first to try and remember everything. For me on a PS5 the animations are great. I was worried that I wouldn't be able to pick up the basics of driving a steam loco, I mean total Kettle noob here. So the last two hours have been an experience. If you are like me then I suggest watching the tutorials when they eventually get published if any.
What I would like to see perhaps in the next version of TSW is perhaps as well as having the scenario, training, journeys timetable and tools "sections" add a reference section. In there could be access to video tutorials (via You Tube) especially with steam locomotives or signalling guides for the route or even Safety systems and how to use them. This way these are on hand and not on a PC or grabbing your smart phone.they are there with you in the game and on the route you are using.
    Anyhow I digress.
The experience is fantastic with the sound. The only downside to that is the lack of jointed track, which DTG have mentioned about and are investigating. Although you can hear the track joints over pointwork with coaches, locos and freight wagons. also some of the freight wagons will sound over track joints on the straight sections. Its really atmospheric and for me its a steep learning curve to remember. I am really enjoying it. Just got to remember everything procedurally to drive the loco. Kinda think myself lucky I am not doing the fireman's job as well. Overall a great experience so far.

can I just ask, what do the loco models look like on the PS5? in particular the wheels and the buffers, as on PS4 these look pretty bad IMO it may have been a necessity to get the route working on the GEN8 console but just slightly distracting.

The tutorial is USELESS! The boiler pressure isn't even mentioned let alone how it's recovered, I could've gone to Wikipedia for better information than the PR video, all we have is the crash course from Matt from the stream.

The below quote came from a guy watching my stream this afternoon.

"Stewart ForgieI am 71 and was a freight guard for BR back in the seventies. I reckon DTG have done a great job with this DLC"

So yeah agree. Currently loving this dlc.
